Week 10 Prediction Thread-------------------- STEELERS at Commanders

Take a look at the teams Washington has beat. Five of their seven wins came against teams with losing records. One win came against the Bears, who have .500 record. They are 1-1 against the only teams they've played with winning records (Ravens and Cardinals); and have lost to the 4-5 Buccanneers. They allow the 4th most rushing yards per game in the league.
If styles make fights, this could be a good game. The Steelers like to run and Washington isn't very good against the run. On the other hand, the Commanders are a passing offense (mostly) and the Steelers 20th ranked passing defense gives up passing yards.
For all that, the Steelers are the #2 ranked defense in terms of ppg (14.6) and the Commanders are outside the top 10 (12th) and allowing 20.8 ppg.
I wouldn't take the Commanders lightly, but, I wouldn't fear them either.
And there are probably Commanders fans out there looking at the exact same stats, etc. and saying the same thing about the Steelers.
One of these teams is likely to be exposed for what they are this week.

Don’t forget the Tie Breakers, unless you plan to just telepath them to me………………….

If I’m in this realm and not in my Spirit World……….. give it a try either way……..

I fixed a perfect score for Coolie once, I’m sure I can fix tie breakers for you…………….

The stats say Washington are mostly a rushing team, not passing. 163 yards per game rushing (ranked 3rd) and 15 rushing touchdowns (ranked 1st) as well as 3rd in rushing attempts per game and equal 5th in yards per carry for Washington. Washington are bottom half of the league in passing touchdowns, passing attempts and 11th in passing yards per game.

You are absolutely correct. Thank you for informing and correcting me. I appreciate the knowledge.

Their top RB is out for the game. I think they will try to pass and often.

461 yards for Robinson who is out….but of course their QB Danials has 459 yards. Stopping him will be the key. Who will be assigned to be his shadow?
Austin Ekeler who is certainly no slouch will be their RB against the Steelers.
By the way Naj is at 592 yards.

I think they need to S on the top of coverage on Mclaurin and a spy on Daniels. That 1 2 punch of theirs definitely will need to be accounted for.

Good guys- 33 Bad guys 24. Steelers should play this game on D like they would Lamar.

27 yards
5 total.
3100 Bushels. how much of this willturn to leaf mold?

Starting Left tackle Cornelius Lucas will be out, their rookie Brandon Coleman will be starting. Big day for Alex?

Their newly acquired star…Marshon Lattimore is also ruled out. Along with the before mentioned starting RB Bryan Robinson. Certainly doesn’t hurt our chances. Their right tackle is quite banged up as well.

Well,I’d be lying if I thought we’d be 6-2 at the half way mark. I did think we’d have a winning record but more like 5-3 or even 4-4. Great job so far by our coaches and players!

The pessimism in me is anticipating a stinker game. Whenever the going has been great,it always seems they get brought down to earth rudely in the last 5 years. Is this that game?

A more conservative away game ball control game Is predicted by myself. Naj and I think a fully healthy Jayden could have a big day here. Discipline by our ends rushing the QB will be key. Containment. He can and will take off at any time. Fitz will be key as well. Not an easy position to play with this talented QB. You think he’s running and cheat forward and his great arm wizzes it by you to the open guy. Stay back and he runs for 20. We face a guy like that 2 games every year and have had great success. So let’s hope that continues.

Patrick Queen…….you’re in 8 games deep. Time for you to shine a little brighter.

Terry McLaurin one of the underrated superstars of the league, and the guy I was hoping we would get during all those trade rumors shall be a huge test for JPJ.

1.Justin Fields- zero yards.
2. 5 combined.
3. 2,114 bushels.

Tomlin’s teams do well after a bye and against rookie QB’s.

Men of Steel 26 Boz….another Ho hum 4 FG day🙂
Redskins 20.

Thanks Slash……Thanks for the stories Drink.

Playing at Washington, I had this one figured for a loss. With key players out for Washington, I think Pittsburgh could keep it close but no cigar. Commanders win 23-20. You didn't include any receiving yards for Fields but I think he may be useful in red zone areas so I'll give him 30 yards passing and running. 4 sacks and lone lost fumble for our defense.

Read the Tie Breaker closer, It’s combined rush and pass yards for Justine Fields.

Thanks for your prediction, always appreciate your input.

Pardon my ignorance, but why is Justin Fields in the conversation?

You’re not ignorant, no one is saying Justin Fields is starting or even playing. Many predictors, predicted 0. It’s a game after the bye week and could be a possibility of him playing, short or long role in the game.

I don't like Tomlin/Austin's soft zone D vs. Kingsbury/QB Daniels offense. If Steelers don't blitz the ILBs and use man coverage in the secondary.... Daniels will pick the zone apart like Flacco, D. Jones and Prescott did. Ekeler will likely get 50+ yards vs D line. This will be a high scoring game. Advantage Commanders.

Steelers 36
Commanders 38

I’m no expert, but to make good mulch……. You need mold (both white & black) because that is what the rotting process includes within it. Moisture is need as well, I mix my leaves in with the grass I’ve collected all summer. In mixing I see a lot of white mold 75% to 25% black.

My new “grapple rake” attachment allows me to lift / move / mix / air-rate (very important). I also water my pit pretty regularly until I have to break down pump from freezing.

Last year was my 1st year to volume (probably 2-2.5 ton). It turned out extremely well. This year will be 4-5 ton. I want to get to about 8 ton annually as I use about 3 ton and could sell the rest. Make enough for gasoline money and equipment repair. I will be selling about 2 ton to the nursery I patronize, not money exchange but barter, this coming year.

There is always something going on here at my small place as I’m a worker bee, but am happy to share what I’m doing wether right or wrong methods as I do what I think will work and read directions after the fact………….

I use leaves every year to help build soil up. some in compost with grass and scrap. but alot of leaves are just used for coverage and the mold it will form. it takes until the next year but way worth it. I have not bought soil in 8 years.
