I use leaves every year to help build soil up. some in compost with grass and scrap. but alot of leaves are just used for coverage and the mold it will form. it takes until the next year but way worth it. I have not bought soil in 8 years.

VERY GOOD, I started a corn patch consisting of “dead” dirt. I root-tilled a massive amount of leaves into it and that spring planted and harvested corn. Leaves are the best fertilizer you can get, grass is pretty good too, provided it is well fertilized.

I quit using any type of manure, I use no pesticides, and try to stay as organic as possible. My mulch is my garden’s food.

Original Post, I stated I would root for Lunar, it has paid off for him.

UPDATE: This early spring I had major dog problems roaming on my place. I had to call sheriff (Game/Fish/& Parks got involved also) multiple times and about 2 month battle. In all that, the two culprit dogs had attacked a wild turkey and tore her foot/ ankle completely off. I tried to coax her along with food just for her, yet keeping her undomesticated. She has survived to this day, but I'm pretty sure she will not make the winter. She is not dependent on me, but occasionally I do throw seed out for her (when she is around. I'll continue the care but will eventually be sad upon her demise.
