Welcome to Draft day 2025

As far as I am concerned the next two picks should be a qb and rb in either order.

You take a qb in the mid rounds because you need 4 in camp and ultimately, barring injury, the guy you take this year is probably gonna be the 3rd qb this year...
if rodgers signs... its Arod-Mason-mid round pick qb
If not its Mason- Skyler- qb pick...

Either way you are still probably taking another QB next year... so you get a guy who at worse will become a backup... and could be a starter...

And at RB you always want that up n coming guy waiting in the wings... injuries hit too often there not to have someone better than Old Man Patterson as tge 3 rb

So basically we got Harmon in the 1st and Metcalf in the second. Get a QB in the third and sign Chubb or Dobbins.
Love both guys when healthy, but Dobbins has missed way too much time in his career, and Chubb was awful last year, and the Browns - who love him and have full access to his medicals - don't want him back. I'd be very afraid of Dobbins and would not touch Chubb.

I wouldn't take a QB just to take a QB.

The chances that a guy who gets drafted in the 3rd become a long term starter are probably pretty low.

We're not good enough that we're one piece away from being competitive for a SB. BPA (except at positions that are obviously set like edge).

I agree with this. Last year everyone was complaining we didn't get another receiver. Now we get one and people want to trade away Pickens. Pickens, Metcalf, and CAIII is pretty solid on paper. I get the issues with Pickens, but just seems pointless to trade him
I think they need to move Muth into the slot and play Washington at TE with GP & DK wide

Unfortunately, Pittsburgh doesn't pick in the 2nd. My hopes for QB are Dart or Milroe. I worry that they may be gone by our pick in the 3rd. Do you think Chubb and Smith will still be there? I hope so.
You obviously missed Jaxson being drafted to the Giants late in round one...

Theoretical trade.

With Cam Ward going number 1 there’s no room for Levis. There’s no upside of keeping him on the team. Would you trade a conditional 2026 pick for him. Maybe a 7th that could improve to a 4th with playing time. (Not likely to happen) We need two more quarterbacks on the roster so that takes care of one. Draft a guy on day 3 takes care of the other. Let the best start and move on with 2025.
Levis may be mentally challenged. I'm assuming this because who, in their right mind, makes mayonnaise their primary sponsor???

Someone has to be funny around here...

Go stand in a corner. I'm not going to even explain why this is an asinine comment.
I think we should hold onto GP. But if we don't think we can get a reasonable extension done, then I'd be OK trading him.

I don't think we'll be competitive for more than a WC berth and early exit this season.

If trading him gives us more ammo to move up and draft a QB next season, I would understand it. And it will make the team worse, so our natural pick will be lower.

There's no way Rooney is thinking this way IMO. But I'd understand the move anyway.

My post means that we effectively got Metcalf in the 2nd round.....we traded our 2nd round pick for Metcalf. It's not like we just threw our 2nd round pick out the window.

What was your last screename?

Trade Patrick Queen to Chicago for their second rounder. Ryan Poles is dumb enough to do it again.
I'd offer Holcomb and Muth plus the 7th round pick to get back in the 2nd round.

The team is solid at ILB and Holcomb probably won't unseat Queen or Wilson. So that's my reasoning at ILB.

Washington blocks and catches and is faster than Muth plus - no concussion history (I think).

I value QB over RB in rounds 2 and 3...

I'm assuming that Shedeur Sanders will be gone by the time the Steelers pick in round 3.

If that's the case, then I wouldn't draft a qb until round 5 or later. I don't view Jalen Milroe as anything but a lottery ticket and we can do a lot better in round 3. Other than that, I don't see much difference in qbs that will go in round 7 to the ones that may go round 3.

Instead, they should just pick the best player available which certainly will not be a qb. I'd even go DL again if that's the BPA.
Maybe our defense just needs Trent Dilfer to play QB this year...

Because this is a losing mentality!!!

I think it’s going to be a quiet evening for the black n’ gold and don’t see them making a trade to get back into the second round.
I think they will draft a RB in round three and tomorrow possibly double dip in round four for another DL.
They may get a QB in round five possibly McCord from Syracuse if he’s there.
Strictly what I think I think.

Yep. In the short term.

And Rooney prioritizes the next game / the current season more than anything.

And it's been a good strategy over the long term.

It's hard to see us being competitive in this AFC without a marquee QB. And the best way to get that is with a very high draft pick (and even then it's a coin flip).

OMG...I can't with you...
So if the Steelers keep Pickens, which looks likely, you still want them to possibly use their 3rd round pick on a WR so they have Pickens, Metcalfe, CAIII, Roman Wilson and 2025 3rd round pick? That’s 2 2nds, and 3 3rds invested in WR. They have other needs.
