What happened?

To be fair, the 47% included Social Security as well, as those are people that have been contributing to the fund all of their life.

Not al of them. Remember SSI Disability is one of the most fraud ridden programs FedGov Inc runs.

yup, when Romney got caught mentioning the 47% he signed his election death certificate. Peeps don't like to be reminded that they are on the dole.

That 47% is made up mostly of Social Security and Medicare recipients. Many of the others are people that have jobs but still qualify for SNAP because they don't make a lot of money. You do realize that not everyone that recieves some form of gov't. money is a piece of **** drug addict sitting around waiting for their check every month because they're too lazy to get a job. In fact, the vast majority are nothing close to that. Maybe if you ever got your information from some other source besides Fox, information like that wouldn't come as such a shock. Actually, I think Romney would have been a decent president. I think he was actually much more of a center/right guy than he was allowed to show during the election because he was too concerned about pissing of the far right knuckle draggers that make up much of the Republican base. And by the way, I love how you all assume that just because I think W. was an idiot and was an embarrassment to the country nearly every time he opened his pie hole, that I'm some kind of far left Obama loving tree hugger. Nothing could be further from the truth. Actually, I think he is not an effective leader at all, and I disagree with many of his positions. I don't just blindly support someone just because they have a "D" or an "R" next to their name

So the vast majority are receiving benefits into which they have paid for a number of years, like SS or Medicare? Agreed. No problem with that.

What percentage are instead Section 8, AFDC, WIC, school lunches, etc. payees? How much per year is spent on those programs? Is that a good use of our resources? How many billions per year are poured into these programs? It is enough to pay to re-build our roads and infrastructure, that's how much we spend on these programs.

And we spend that money not because we must, or because it is well-spent. Americans did not starve before Johnson's "war on poverty." Americans worked, or lived with family, or received charity. Once the wealth transfer became a government responsibility, it became bloated, overwhelmed with bureaucracy, and a tool for political abuse. The most important function of every government program, ever, is to propagate itself and expand.

Maybe if you ever got your information from some other source besides Fox, information like that wouldn't come as such a shock.

Please cite on news report, article, comment, etc. - ******* ONE - that misstated data regarding government payouts.

Until then, you should ...

Oh, and I find it hilarious that somebody who apparently claims some great intellect - as evidenced by the fact that you repeatedly assert your ability to denigrate the intelligence of George W. Bush - is so unnerved that one station is not a boot-licking lackey to the Democrat agenda. Anyone who seriously doubts the political bent of ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and every major newspaper is simply denying the obvious.

When is the last time a major newspaper recommended a Republican for President? The Post - Reagan in 1984?

And by the way, I love how you all assume that just because I think W. was an idiot and was an embarrassment to the country nearly every time he opened his pie hole ...

Davenport and I posted information proving that your "Bush is stupid" meme is bullshit.

Maybe you should get information from somewhere other than the Daily Kos.

I don't just blindly support someone just because they have a "D" or an "R" next to their name

Bullshit. You gargle with Bammy's baby-batter. You have never criticized him in this forum. Ever.

I understand why you are embarrassed to share political views with utter failures like Bammy and Biden, but the first part of solving the problem is admitting you have one.

Believe me, having read your comments, you have a problem.

Don't forget that the current state of unemployment benefits are not something that, truly, "someone paid in to". The benefits upon which unemployment premiums are based have been far exceeded by what has been paid out.

Well no, all employers pay a percentage of their payroll to the state unemployment fund. The rate is based on your claim experience. Then you have Federal unemployment which in most cases is 0.8%. Unless you're like me and in PA where we have to pay an extra premium to the state so they can pay back the Feds for the money they had to borrow to cover all the unemployment claims in the Obama economy. Oops, what am I saying? 21 owns a couple of businesses and can explain all this.

Unemployment benefits exceed what were paid into the fund for some recipients because many who pay in never collect
because they don't lose there jobs. It's unemployment insurance and works the same as health insurance. Many who pay
for health premiums or have paid for them by their employer, never receive health benefits that equal what they paid in.

I was eligible once for unemployment payments, but said no thanks.

All Georges MBA got him were failed businesses, so I'm not sure what he learned. He would have gone bankrupt, but got bailed out because
some wealthy folks could use the tax write-off value of the losses and thought the favor might lead to some political influence value down the road.
They thought Daddy Bush's friendship with the Saudi's would get them into the oil in the Mideast.

Not sure where he got the 800K to buy good seats to the Ranger games. I'm skeptical it came out of his pocket.

He's the poster child of how a wealthy and well connected father, can compensate for one's own abilities.

You have that exactly opposite. Benefits exceed what was paid into the fund because you have a lot more money being paid out to the unemployed than what is paid in by companies and the employed. Further, it's a vicious cycle in a recession because 1) more people are collecting and 2) since the premium is a percentage of payroll, as payrolls go down in a recession then so does the amount being paid into the fund, at least until the state raises the rate by one-third across the board as they did in PA a couple years ago, which gives me less of what I already don't have enough of.

He's the poster child of how a wealthy and well connected grandfather and mother, can compensate for one's own abilities.
Oops, I thought you were talking about Bomma for a minute there.

First of all, your premise is unsurprisingly off the mark - that a failed start-up means a wasted MBA? That sentiment reeks of someone with absolutely no understanding of business. Second of all, which failed business are you referring to - the one he got out of with a profit, or the one where he invested that profit in the Texas Rangers and got out of that with a $14MIL+ profit?

Bush was dumb for investing his own money. He should have used the Hillary method where a company that wants your influence invests their money for you. If the investment pays, it goes in your account. If it loses, it goes in the company's account. Genius strategy. Hillary never picks a loser like that dummy Bush.

Bomma's mother and her parents were big players in the U.S. Socialist movement in the 30's and onward. They were also wealthy which is how He and His mother came to live in Indonesia with no visible means of support, attend the most exclusive private school in Hawaii, and attend Columbia and Harvard with again, no visible means of support. Not exactly being down with the struggle, but Boosh is an elitist and Bomma is FBP.
