In reality he probably doesn’t get too many highs or lows throughout a game. For this one, even the TD didn’t mean the game was over.

My guess is Pickett called an audible. Ravens had 9 guys in the box and everyone up on the line of scrimmage. If Pickett did audible on this play it was the right call and it worked to perfection for the Touchdown! Canada looks to be in disbelief that his play wasn't run.....The emotion from everyone else and the elation of the rest of the Steelers staff only works to amplify Canada's lack of emotion. I don't know about anyone else but Matt Canada should be FIRED come immeidately!

I would have thought this, but canada has showed emotion in the past just like in today's game after Pickett got sacked. For him not to smile, give a little fist pump, clap, or anything given all that was on the line says to me that something was up with that play he didn't like. Maybe he was stripped of his duties and that play signified his job being over? Just can't think of any reason he wouldn't be happy for the team
all i meant was . The play was called in the huddle. Not Audible. Who called it? Who knows.. I would like to hear bens reaction on his podcast thing,,, if somehow it could get brought up... I need to figure out when that is so i can watch.
As for the play being called in the huddle.. that simply could have been Pickett saying “ We are running this, but if you are singled, i am heaving it your way…
He gets plenty of lows unfortunately they come in the form of his playcalling.
Anywho to see others happy over a TD and he just sits there with an odd look makes me question his passion. Perhaps he only needs proficiency over that, but still would be nice to see. He comes across as standoffish. We aren't getting X and O capable so shows us something **** anything.

The crazy thing is, why are we calling a shotgun play with 3 WR and they are playing cover zero and stacking the box? That's how pathetic our playcalling currently is, they know we won't take any risks.

I hate Tomlin/Canada/Austin just as much as the next guy, but there's a few pet peeves I'm seeing right now.....
For quite some time, EVERY time something bad happens, it's 100% completely on the OC/DC/HC.
And EVERY time something good happens, it's always because the players went rogue, ignored the play called, and were smarter than the coaches and made the right audible/adjustment/etc.
Yes, these three unwiseman all need to go yesterday.
But let's not speculate who did what and who should get credit.
It's always a TEAM effort, either in a win or a loss.
Nobody does it on their own.
Unless of course your name is TJ Watt.
Sweet fancy Moses is this guy an unblockable BEAST.
Probably the only thing I've ever agreed with Tomlin on was his quote about TJ being an alien from another planet.
The man is UNREAL.

Not that Canada is even in the same universe.

C'mon man. The entirety of what Tomlin said there indicated that they were prepared for Balt to show 0 coverage and when the opportunity presented itself (developed), they took advantage.

what about the other 50x they showed cover 0? Seemed like every third down they were bringing alot of heat.
Also seems like every third down they were getting there with that heat or KP8 was throwing to the outlet.
So, maybe a better question would be "Mike, why did it take you guys so long to allow Kenny to audible/change the line protections to take advantage of the Ravens' aggressiveness?"

From Tomlin's answer in the press conference when asked about the play
"It presented itself to us but I don't know if those were our intentions"
From this answer I think we can safely deduce that Kenny called that play on his own. Especially when Pickens said after the game that the play was called in the huddle. I don't think that's speculation.
In truth, I feel like Tomlin and Canada are content to just muddle along, slogging through the muck of the game until Canada is forced to call a series that will actually accomplish something. They are putting a **** ton of pressure on the defense with this approach and the defense is not always able to overcome the bullshit.

If the defense doesn't play lights out and get turnovers that result in points there's almost zero chance of winning any given game.
Not just the Pressure on the D .....can you imagine going out as the Offense and going 3 and out first series once again. No points in first quarter once again etc,etc.
Then the boos starts,the pressure from the media,the fans. It can’t be fun being on the Offense right now.
Good coaching is not about holding a team back. It’s supposed recognize the teams strengths and move forward,exploit. . And coach up the weaknesses. This regime definitely holds us back.
