What the Hell?? Osweiler trade

Why on earth wouldn't Cleveland keep Os at least until they land Jimmy G?

It's not over

Browns shopping Osweiler contract all over the league. Want to trade Brock and late rnd pick for '18 3rd rnd pick .

Browns are fixated on the 3rd round pick in 2018, leading many to believe they're out to deal bevy of picks to NE for Jimmy G

Browns telling other teams that they will also eat "at least half" of the $16M due to Osweiler this year to facilitate the trade...

They have a shitload of picks to offer the Pats now - watch them give away three 2nd rd picks to the Pats for Jimmy G

they really are great at eating ****

I really don't get this at all. They are going to eat 16 million dollars or maybe only 8 for a second round pick. Couldn't they just sign a good player for the16 million dollars and consider it a second round pick. Strange.

They're going to **** the entire NFL when they trade two picks in rounds 1-3 this year and next year to NE for Jimmy. Pats will win 4 more SBs..

Hershal to Vikings.. part 2

This stuff happens all the time in the NBA...we just don't usually see it in the NFL ..its a win for both teams

is Osweiler really that bad that the Browns would rather dump him than keep him and give RG3 yet another shot?

This is bizarre.

If the Browns are doing something smart, it would signal a major shift for Cleveland...but there IS a smart play here.

So they traded their 4th round for a 2nd and a 6th...and they pickup 16mm. No big deal. They can keep Osweiler OR trade him and tank 2017. If they do that, they win the Sam Darnold sweepstakes...and THAT kid is going to be a stud QB in the NFL. In essence, they would have picked up draft picks AND the best QB prospect in two years...

This is bizarre.

The are stock-piling top draft picks - no telling what they do

Browns have nine Top 65 picks in next two drafts

The No. 1 overall pick in 2017.

The No. 12 overall pick in 2017 (from Philadelphia).

The No. 33 overall pick in 2017.

The No. 52 overall pick in 2017 (from Tennessee).

The No. 65 overall pick in 2017.

Their own first-round pick in 2018.

Their own second-round pick in 2018.

Philadelphia’s second-round pick in 2018.

Houston’s second-round pick in 2018.

I still bet I could make better picks than they do

Contract update:

Brock Osweiler signs contract with Cleveland Browns. Gets a paper cut during the signing. Now is being treated for a staph infection...

nine of the top 65 draft picks are going to have sub-par careers and wash out of the league after their rookie contracts.
bet i can identify them as they're picked.

Peace out!

Shennanigans!

Jimmy G claims he was hacked

Oh the drama

Browns won't be getting Garoppolo

Appearing on 97.1 in Columbus, Ohio, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Browns won't be acquiring Jimmy Garopppolo no matter what they offer the Patriots.

Schefter added it's not about the Browns' offer; it simply sounds like the Patriots intend to hold onto their promising backup. The Browns have been stockpiling draft picks, potentially as a way to seduce the Patriots into giving them Garoppolo, but it apparently isn't going to work. Another team that was interested in Garoppolo, the Bears, have already moved onto Mike Glennon as their starter. The Browns will need to explore other avenues in their quest for a franchise passer.

*s inflating the price?

The Browns have had enough very early 1st and 2nd round picks to have built at least 2 SB teams since they got their team back, yet they can't even get to the playoffs or even sniff the playoffs. Their ownership is a complete joke. I and many on this board could have done a better job than the Clowns have done. They are a complete laughing stock.

Pats, inflating prices and deflating balls since 1971

Silly browns... just absorbed a 16 million dollar cap hit fir the right to draft yet another bust in the second round....

Browns are still well over $100M in cap space - By cutting RGIII they are saving around $7M, so really it will only cost them $9M at the QB position to cut Brock

Browns shopping Brock Osweiler and a 5th for a 3rd and will cut him if they can't trade him

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Browns are looking to trade Brock Osweiler for a third-round pick.

The Browns are willing to throw in a fifth-rounder and are open to paying half of Osweiler's salary. Per Cabot, if the Browns can't find a taker, they'll release Osweiler and eat the $16 million remaining on his contract. The Browns are positioning themselves to make a run at Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Cabot's report all but confirms that Osweiler will never play a down in Cleveland.
