What's missing form the offense? Big plays in general.

......Mostly,,,,

Ben is no longer mobile and can't beat the blintz or extend plague the way he used to. He overthrows the deep ball too.

Harris isn't gong to get you too many 20+ yard runs. He just isn't that type of back. I'm am staring to doubt this pick being a good one.
He look average to me, meanwhile Conner isn't doing that bad in Arizona.

None of our WR's or TE' are getting the job done outside of a few flashes to Claypool and Johnson. They are mostly short receivers.

Our OL remains too flag prone and generally gets beat on medium to long developing plays On run downs there isn't any push.

And the man calling the plays for the offense leaves a lot to be desired.

In short lots of changes are needed. It a good thing TJ Watt is making plays. awe typically score 21 points or less, that not going to win you any games, minus a blocked punt or playing a backup QB.

there were people doubting Derrick Henry for a few seasons, too.
but this ... man, when you "doubt" someone...

Coach wants Conner back from Arizona. LOL
Conner isn't doing anything Najee wouldn't do better in Arizona.
Najee hasn't been bad, not as advertised though. but not all his fault.
The Bears Rookie 6th rounder khalil Herbert is the best Rookie RB in the league. So far.
RB is always a crapshoot.

Seriously, people now criticizing Najee? Najee has broken 20+ yard runs (and receptions) but most have been called back by dumb penalties. The dude has been a stud, a beast, and everything as advertised. He gets the tough yards better than anyone we've had since the Bus. My guess is by next year or the year after, he will be better than Bell ever was. If it weren't for Chase, Najee would be leading for offensive rookie of the year. He has almost 400 yards rushing with 2 TD'S and almost another 250 yards receiving with 2 more TD's right now and that's behind a terrible O line. He will easily eclipse what most thought he would do this year. I figured 1,300+ yards from scrimmage and 10+ TD's and he will probably blow by both of those. That's a great season for any RB let alone a rookie.

Well said, some just need to stand back and look at the big picture.

Crapiest OL in the NFL, could very well be true so what Najee is doing is even bigger than most give credit to him.

Salute the nation

Najee has looked alot better after a rough start, he laid a few eggs to start the season. 3.8 ypc is not what I was hoping for when they drafted him. But I think/hope he continues to get better with each game.

If we still had Conner or Snell back there, that 3.8 would be 1.8 and I'm not joking.

When 2 defenders come down to tackle Harris at the sideline, he spin moves, stiff arms one defender into the other, and picks up 4 yards avoiding a TFL, no RB has ever done that for the Steelers. Here's my bet. Harris will have a play longer than 25yds this season. This isn't your same old Bell can't get 25yds on a play argument from 5 yrs ago, is it...

DJ is the best WR on this team, and it's not close after him. Claypool can make big plays, he just needs more consistency. I think he'll look better with his groin after 2 weeks off.

Freyermuth is baby Heath. Enjoy watching him grow, because he's our future.

I believe it. .2 yards either way.

Agree on all three. I don't know what's going on with Claypool.

so ******* sad you can't even spell the mans name correctly

Freiermuth or just Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhh

.I watch many games Sunday switching channels and the most glaring problem in this offense is our receivers just cannot get open like other teams receivers. They cannot separate and to many times our guys go out and stop as I watched many receivers continued movement till they found the open area. When they show replay how many sharp routes receivers were running compared to our group. Plus they would make hard catches when covered, fighting for ball body position to make catch.

I'm a terrible speller. That's why SN forced me to stop writing articles and stick to yapping on the Casts...

Claypool has a groin. It was his first game back, and it looked like it. He should be better with 2 weeks off. I expect a much crisper Claypool this Sunday.

What's holding him back in my opinion is firstly, Ben...you can't install a brand new offense with a QB in his last year.
Why not? Ben is future Hall of Famer. A new offense should be elementary to a guy like that. Cripes, struggling a little in something that hasn't been seen for three straight years is preferable to getting beaten doing the same old ****. Just my opinion. If what you say about Canada and Ben is actually true, then they gave up on the season before it started.

Because you turn your veteran QB into a rookie essentially. Canada switched up the terminology of the playbook and Ben made a statement that everyone was struggling a bit adjusting to it. Now add in different personnel packages, blocking concepts, route trees, audibles, and play strategies and Ben is thinking and playing slower. Ben still has his experience and football knowledge so he isn't a rookie in that sense obviously, but it makes the game that much harder for him.

once again I'm going to spell all of this out

1. It takes more than a year to install most complete systems
2. The first part of the first year of a new OC has almost always looked exactly like the last one until they can get everything installed
3. For instance, the Cowher ocs all used some modification of the Erhardt base offense , arians installed an “air coryell” type system, but in 07, it was basically just whiz’s stuff we ran…. Or how a lot of year one of todd Haley was just slightly changed arians stuff
4. Fitchner’s offense was putrid. It doesn’t surprise me to see it need to be totally reworked..
5. We also are rebuilding the oline and Oline scheme simultaneously
6. The start of the season was always going to be ****** offensively

Coach, Ben has never in his 18 year career been able to defeat the Blintz or even extend Plaque.
Maybe Ben drank too many Blintzs and now he has far too much Plaque. Geez Coach, check your posts before you send them out.

Look, it’s simple! You have an OL with two rookies and Big Dot is in his second year and first as a starter, Chucks at RT and you want to criticize Najee? That’s insane even for you. The young OL are improving every week as well as Najee getting better each week. Najee will turn out to be a pro bowl back, he’s got it all just needs his OL to keep improving.
As for Ben, you have a 39 year old QB behind a new and young OL so of course he’s not where he’s been in the past when he had the same guys protecting him for years. He’s got a new offense and new coordinator so he’s adjusting as well. No he does not have the same escapability as he once had, but he can still make the throws but doesn’t always have the time and this team does not currently have a number one receiver. They have a bunch of number two guys but no clear cut number one and that’s hurt Ben.
Bottom line, the OL will continue to get better, Najee will be just fine and so glad we have him, and next year we add a RT and RG in early rounds of draft and F/A and all of a sudden the OL will be a strength next year.

Stop looking at the Steelers so negative and always criticizing every damn thing they do.

A line that cannot do it , receivers that cannot separate or come close to getting open and then will they catch the ball. Defenses crowd the line so the running game is iffy. Najee is far from a bad pick, his attitude alone, he will be a leader and he will be a great back if Tomlin can find away in his heart to get a line built for Najee. Ben is not the problem, once more a receiving group reading last years papers instead of going on the field and put an effort in their game. One play here and there makes the Steelers not look good on paper or the field.
