Shopping malls across the nation were taking additional security precautions Tuesday following a string of disturbances the day after Christmas that resulted in minor injuries, evacuations and scores of arrests.
Police were beefing up patrols and mall security guards were out in force after melees involving mostly young people erupted around malls in Elizabeth, N.J.; Fayetteville, N.C.; East Garden City, N.Y.; Aurora, Colo.; and Tempe, Ariz., among others.

Every video and picture I've seen from these things shows mobs of black kids doing the rioting. I guess that is not newsworthy and we'll ignore it. Looks like the way we (society) will address it is like this -
- Elizabeth Mayor Bollwage. There you go. It's to be expected. Just the state of humanity.“If you look around the world nothing is getting solved through dialogue or conversation, issues around the world are being solved through violence,” Mr. Bollwage said. An incident like this “is a commentary on humanity at this stage.”

Too much time on their hands. Remember summer break, and all you could think about to fill your time was rioting in a mall?Other officers, like Capt. Gary Haba of the Beachwood Police Department in Beachwood, Ohio, believe the more likely common thread is that teenagers have too much time on their hands during the holiday break from school, and just enough freedom to head to the nearest shopping center — especially if they think they will encounter a lively scene.
Remember when mild weather just drove you crazy and all you could think about was rioting in a mall? Some police officers said the chaos had the characteristics of so-called flash mobs, gatherings loosely organized on social media. The police also speculated that unseasonably warm weather in some places may have played a role, too. It was around 65 degrees in Indianapolis, where fights broke out at Castleton Square mall.
Seriously, WTF? This is acceptable now? There is a serious problem in this "youth" community and it won't get fixed by ignoring it.
