Who is NOT watching "draft" and why???????????????????????

Just drink a shot for each pick. By the time 20 rolls around.

You will roll around and time will be no factor.

The new format sucks and it's a drawn out affair hearing the same O'l bull puckey over and over. 5yrs ago I went through a MAJOR life issue and at that time I was paying $260.00 a month on "CABLE" TV. I got everything but then chose to lower my cost(s) and now currently have Netflix as my ONLY cost monthly. I also paid the $99.00 game pass so other than that I have a few streamed FREE channels.

NO worries because I catch near everything I need to know and factual right here on STEELERNATION.COM. I read a couple other headlines here and there but 5this place is the best.

I was like you. After getting a gazillion channels for years,watching all drafts all games I cut the cord. Having 4 kids,meant paying for 6 cell phones and then that 220$ a month for tv.....enough! It’s funny,I bought a 20$ hdtv antenna hooked it up,I get 6 channels in crystal clear hdtv,and believe it or not about 70% of the Steelers games were on tv. In Canada our Canadian stations pick up the cbs,nbc,Fox feeds for the nfl so there are always games on.....

So now on draft night I check in here,and listen to it on the radio in the background.
 
Maaaaaaan, I used to LOVE draft Saturdays when it was rounds 1 & 2. Me and the boys would get together and eat, drink, and be footballie.
But now? Can’t do it.
Besides, going to Avengers : End Game while the first round is on......and that’ll will be FAR MORE exciting!

Count me in with the crew that doesn't like the new format. It's too geared toward the casual fan and I felt like the draft was the last NFL event geared toward the pure football fan. Sitting there on Saturday watching all three first rounds was a blast and when you added in the draft day party at Heinz Field, it was a great day. It' just not the same. I also don't like that they moved the draft back a week. I know it puts the NFL on the map for one additional week, but its just rehashing more of the same and I know I've started to tune it out as there's no new information. I'd love to see the two-day format return and move it back to mid April.

There isn't enough draw, other than the actual STEELERS pick, to get me to watch. They'll be rehashing the little chest stuff and Bell and who wants to listen to that bullshit again......... And don't forget t*mmy b*y has dry ball syndrome so they'll be licking them all day long too. I admire slash of his FULL bORE approach and it kind of reminds me of the good O'l days.

So for those of you who watch,.... I get it and also for those of you who chose NOT to watch, I get that too. EITHER way I hope all come here to read and contribute to the discussion,.......YES even Coach but that will be 30 days down the road................

Watching it until the Steeler pick in round one.

I also record rounds 4-7 just in case I’m doing something else.

This year cameras will be in the war room.

Extending the draft over so many days is nothing but a prostitution by the league for ratings and nothing else matters; apparently not the diehard fans of old who grew up with this stuff who planned Saturday draft parties, had family/friends over, just a big ole shindig to celebrate a promising new season. So many good memories were made by NFL fans then. "IF only they pick 'so-and-so'; watching the Jets/Giants fans (when the draft was held primarily in NY) absolutely lose their heads when their team picked someone other than who they wanted (Kyle Brady, we're looking at you). Watching Mel Kiper, Jr. lose it when a team picks a guy (Burress) over his guy (Pennington).... priceless stuff. Before YouTube and the availability of video highlights of every schlub who ever donned a football helmet, we had to wait deep into the draft (4th round and on) to see video clips of players we picked when we knew very little about them.

Now, in the Goodell era, so much has changed (by the way, I do enjoy hearing a cascade of 'booos" raining down on him as he approaches the podium....). Changing the draft format. Interjecting politics (Michael Sam and his being drafted was a trend-setting, monumental moment in sports, they would have you believe).

Fitting that it's being held in Nashville, the bed of country music and the split between classic country diehards (fans of Cash, Haggard, Jennings...) and this new country/pop crap being pushed on radio. All in the name of progress, I guess... damn the traditions.

That is because Bucky is an idiot.

Most of these guys have no idea a teams true strengths and weaknesses. So they are guessing basically.

I remember tuning in back when it was on the weekend and have it on in the background. Would try to time it for when the Steelers picked. These days I read about the picks the next day.
