Is it to early to say Metcalf? Or was it Fitzpatrick? Both have to rank right up there in the top of the top. No? Is/was it the player or the scheme we put them in...what we ask from them? We made Fritzpatrick the highest paid safety. We made Metcalf one of the highest paid WR's. Did we get our money's worth? Is the jury still out on Metcalf? I guess Metcalf still can change it around perhaps.

A slow game day it seems. Step up and bash the thread or simply give your opinion. The traffic pays the bills here. Get it done SteelerNation!!!! Don't be bashful. Lay into me if I am wrong....but tell me why I am. 🤪

A different route for the shy board today.....Best trade/fa signing by the Steelers....Bettis? Farrior? Rodgers?🤔

I think scheme and coaching is a large part of the issue. With only one legit WR, it’s easy for opposing defenses to limit Metcalf beyond the limits in the Steelers offense.

So Fitzpatrick gave us several good years and held value when we did trade him away, so he wouldnt be it

Metcalf is in year one... never judge a trade off of one year..

Most terrible steelers trades ( like mike willians last year) were for low draft capital... so they dont really matter

The two most significant bad trades were
1. Trading up to get Bush, though that was for picks, not a player
2. Trading AB to the Raiders for two middling picks rather than the Pats or Bills for a first

As for free agent signings... either sean Mahan, who couldnt cut it at C, Ladarius Green, or morgan Burnett

AB we got something before he imploded completely.....Simliar to the Pickens trade?

They overpaid for DK Metcalf....he's always been overrated as a WR and we paid him $133 Million! YIKES!

Patrick Queen sucks *** too! He's never been good in the 3 seasons he's been here!

scheme goes a long long way.

what would Jefferson be doing in this scheme?

I don't disagree but DK has never been anything special to warrant paying him $133 Million

And as far as Patrick Queen....he's a friggin LB'er....when I see our ILB doing his best El Matador impression to tackle a ball carrier it's hard for me to find a reason to keep this guy on the roster! In fact I'd take a 70+ year old Jack Lambert right now in his place!

I certainly dont think hes worth 33 million and hes about 15-20 range in ranking among receivers in the league (prob more 20-25). I dont think hes a WR1 at all. That being said I would have liked to have seen him play opposite a complimentary WR2 although Lamar chase didnt play with a #2 the other night and still looked great.

Turning down a first plus from Chicago for Mike tomlin might be the worse non trade we ever made... could have had a young offensive mind and extra picks
A flat out rumor could never be considered a worse trade in any context. First of all Tomlin has a non trade clause. Second i doubt he would take another coaching job anywhere because I think he realizes the game is no longer what it used to be to him and the responsible thing is not to take a position with another organization where they expect fire and longevity out of him. I believe he knows hes in his Iast contract here and was hoping to go out the same he came in. I think he honestly was hoping something might spark with the likes of Wilson and Rodgers but they are/were way too past their primes to make a difference where they need so much from their QBs. He was hoping signing a bunch of former All stars on defense might make life difficult for offenses but the money was spent inefficiently. They got the wrong people to do it and we're at where were at. Experienced, but old is not a good combination in this league, but for whatever reason thats what they keep signing.

yeah, nice job by the historical D today. Was that Tomlin or Khan's doing?

He will probably take a trade this offseason. He has a huge ego and the fans chanting fire Tomlin will really piss him off...

Tomlin is only 52. He will coach into his mid 60's unless he takes a job in broadcasting. He almost certainly isnt a one stop head coach. A lot of coaches dont even get a job till their first HC job till their late 40's

And most, if not all, coaches have no trade clauses, yet coaches get traded... a team offers to pay more and that goes away

Both their doings...as far as im concerned Khan needs to be gone with Tomlin when he's done. As far as im Khan has zero idea what hes doing. Imo. Right now giving up Pickens to Dallas is like the equivalent of the Mavericks GM giving up Doncic to the Lakers....and for what??

As was said earlier, Kahn is a dealmaker... Tomlin makes the roster moves... its been that way since cowher won the power struggle with donahue.. steelers coaches drive player move movement

They still refuse to throw to Roman. He had 1 freaking target, yet he probably gets open the most. One play, he was wide open, and Rodgers threw it too far. I saw another play where he was wide open (no one within yards of him), and the throw went to the midget Austin, and he had no chance to catch it. He is too small for the types of throws they send his way, or the QB just doesn't throw it far enough for Austin's speed.

Having no WR2 is Kahn and Tomlin's fault. MVS is not a WR2. He is at best a WR3, and even that is very generous.

They absolutely must give Howard a chance to play this year, but you know Tomlin won't. If he gets to the Ratbird game at the end of the season with no playoff hopes and his .500 record on the line, he will keep the starters in. That is how he rolls. If he can keep his personal streak intact, he will do anything to do so.
