Will Deshaun Watson get a Ben Roethlisberger-style Punishment, or a Pass?

I think the power was taken away from the "rog" durring the new CBA. It's a panell of three that hear and decide punishment.

Although there is claim the NFL has no input I gaurantee yaz there is always influence from the GREED MACHINE.

Salute the nation
I thought Goodell did have total say at the end- even after the circus. I was under the impression he could still decide his own fate for Watson- regardless of what the suggestion was.

I believe the last count was 24 accusers. 6 game suspension means 1 quarter per woman he assaulted. Just so all the women know how the NFL values them now. The answer is 15 minutes.

And I guess nothing happens to Houston either even after they provided the room for this predator to take advantage of women

He paid off well over 20 women to keep quiet. The Texans did the same. A six-game suspension is absolutely ridiculous. He should have gotten a full season minimum. The Texans should get a large 8 or 9-figure fine along with the loss of some number 1 draft picks. Even if there was an arbiter, this is another HUGE black eye for the league.

Lady Justice better trade in that sword for something with more firepower. She is going to need it. What a joke. Ben got 6 reduced to 4. Waiting for the Shield to reduce Watson's to 4.

From Yahoo! Sports:
As part of the decision, Watson must now receive all his massages from Browns team therapists, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Robinson's ruling said that while Watson's “pattern of behavior was egregious,” it was “nonviolent sexual conduct,” per Pelissero.

According to the judge, it was "non-violent sexual misconduct," so you know, no big deal.

The most amazing part is that a woman made this decision.

The ruling is a joke and, sadly, not really unexpected. I just expect to NEVER see anything out of the NFL about respecting women, etc.

Maybe this year in October they can actually make a huge donation to actual cancer treatment centers instead of pushing their pink laced athletic gear. That would probably not work because there is no publicity in that.

30 women...according to the headlines on MSN the number is 30. I am just speechless.... this isn't a punishment it's a slap on the wrist with a wink and a nod.

Pretty insane considering the times we live in. I thought for sure it would have been a year minimum. I can see this backfiring for the league

Follow the money, check that arbitrator accounts...

6 games. 😂😅

I knew it was going to be a joke.

When I read last night in a cbssports.com article that the NFLPA wouldn't appeal the judge's decision it was loud and clear that the ruling would be a joke

the judge only talked to 4 of the 24 women involved. So if 4 women = 6 games, then ...

at any rate, the NFL should appeal. I'd suspect this 6 game decision was put out so they could get a feel on how the public perceived it. Then the NFL will appeal and good ol' Rog will reduce or increase the time. And we all know how fair he has been.

From that link:
That saga has culminated in the six-game suspension that compares to a season-long suspension of Atlanta Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley for betting what he says was a total of $1,500 on NFL games. Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins was suspended six games for violating the league Performance Enhancing Drug policy.

No surprise...they don't get any of my money anyway...but this is rotten as hell.

I had read that “The Rog” is, in this case, the appealing officer for the NFL, but further, “has the authority to increase the suspension”???

If I’m reading it correctly, he can appeal to the judge for an increased suspicion (taking the onus off of him) OR simply express that he disagrees with the judge’s ruling and increase the suspicion on his own???

The hypocrisy called NFL. They pat themselves on the back for hiring women in positions and now slapped them in the face along with all women involved in the NFL. Where are the women speaking up are they afraid of their jobs, the climate today no one would touch them because of reaction for this character.

So like I said, the NFL tried to flub this… they want it to go away

This is exactly the duplicitous sexual assault/ harassment standards that aren’t really defined or standardized so it varies from case to case… particularly on money and fame, for some reason… lol…

If Watson was an executive and he did the same things to a subordinate, is that sexual harassment or assault?
The bare minimum is that Watson attempted to solicit prostitution from non prostitutes… this wasn’t just making sexual advances to someone unwilling.. it was getting a girl alone in a room intentionally then propositioning her in an awkward and compromising situation. It was predatory. If he walks I hope the Feminazis burn down the league office because honestly they deserve it…
I’m not going political with this here—suffice to say #metoo & believe all women were applied for political agendas & ignored when it didn’t suit.

However, from personal perspective & experience, these women were not all innocent, flowery victims. I’ve seen capability of nothing less than acts of pure evil.

I know nothing of any of these accusers and cannot speak to what degree he was guilty—especially in a landscape where you still can be accused of xxxx if she’s claiming intoxication next day despite being willing.

I don’t care what Kraft did or did not get away with, if you want the perks of being a star QB in NFL with the status, it comes with the standards of not making dumb decisions, which includes partying with drunk college groupies, that other guys can do.

Let's be very clear, this was not Judge but rather the NFL Discipline Officer, who chose to speak to just four women and using the NFL's Conduct Policy decided to give this guy a slap on the ***. Then, you read this bullshit.

No additional evidence or testimony shall be presented to or accepted by the Commissioner or his designee. Any factual findings and evidentiary determinations of the Disciplinary Officer will be binding to the parties on appeal, and the decision of the Commissioner or his designee, which may overturn, reduce, modify or increase the discipline previously issued, will be final and binding on all parties.”

Okay, so the "evidence" collected from four women is the base for determining punishment? Cherry Pick much?

For an organization who supports breast cancer awareness and has done everything it can to attract females to the game, they sure as Hell don't have a conduct policy that offers protections of women. Watson gets the same punishment as a PED user? So, betting on NFL games that you aren't involved in is twice as bad as lude exposure and eliciting sex in the workplace?

Message heard loud and clear NFL! Women are merely a marketing demographic for increasing revenue. Nothing more!

For reference, Calvin Ridley is suspended a full season because he legally bet $1500 on a parlay while he was out of action last year.

Also should be noted that the Browns, anticipating the suspension, purposely set up Watson’s contract to keep his bonuses and salary low this year. Result is this will only cost Watson 300K in salary.

Appears they now found their logo.

So now I’m hoping for some other bombshell to drop and make the NFL look as bad as the money grubbing, virtue signaling ****** they are… if this had been a Steelers player we’d never hear the end of how the league fixed it for us
