This is the first real test for the D.
Tomlin is 13-4 after the bye, but he hasnt lost one since 2016...

Washington Commanders list of injured players ruled out this week:

CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring)
T Cornelius Lucas (ankle)
RB Brian Robinson (hamstring)
K Austin Seibert (right hip)
TE Colson Yankoff (hamstring)

There is another T on the injury report, but he will probably play...

Washington has a top 2 rushing O and a top ten passing O,
On D they are middling... not real bad like tge Ravens or Bengals......they do give up a lot of rushing yards. That could just be from playing so much Pass D..

Steelers 31
Going Commando 27

Expect no turnovers for us and possibly no sacks against their stout O-line. If we do over perform in those two areas we could blow them out.

I think Robinson being out and a T being out is big but I thought the Dallas game had favorable matchups and we saw how that turned out.

I think the key in this game is Daniel’s against the Steelers CBs. I thought this year sometimes the secondary didn’t play to their potential. They will need to do just that to come away with a W.

So there are several very important things to note about the Washington injury report
A. Their starting RB Robinson is out... he is a bigger back, the next two on their depth chart are more third down / change of pace types... they do have a bigger guy from last year, Chris Rodriguez, but last week he got a career high of 11 carries... he is inactive most games...

B. Their K is out... they will be going with a new guy this game

C. Their RT is going to play hurt... their top backup T is out...

D. Lattimore wont play, so we may be able to exploit their cbs a bit

Not having to defend again Brian Robinson should play into our favor. He was the RB behind Najee at Bama and he has great vision and is usually pretty durable and steady.

Russ should be able to spread the ball out w/o Lattimore on the field and I suspect that Pickens and CA3 will have good production today.

WE NEED TO HAVE A PLAN FOR LUVU!!! This dude is an absolute freakin' monster!!!

Steelers Inactives

No. 21 CB C.J. Henderson
No. 51 LB Nick Herbig
No. 64 OG Max Scharping
Commanders Inactives
No. 3 K Austin Seibert
No. 8 RB Brian Robinson Jr.
No. 16 QB Jeff Driskel (3rd QB)
No. 22 S Darrick Forrest
No. 23 CB Marshon Lattimore
No. 45 LB Dominique Hampton
No. 78 T Cornelius Lucas

Looks like Miller was on the receiving

pause

end of the Williams trade.

So I am sure we will see both new editions today.

Interesting receiver line up. All over 6’0 with the exception of Austin. Looks like Smitty is going to play big boy ball

Something I’m interested in seeing today-or we might see it next week vs the Rats is how they deploy Sutton in the secondary. He is subpar on the outside-however, in the slot he’s a beast and he can jump in at safety. I think we may see Austin moving 20, 39 and 25 to make them more unpredictable

All checked in at the Steeler bar. Btw, they’re still the Redskins to me. Ask most Native Americans too!

Oh, I've read a zillion articles about how pissed various native groups are about teams changing their names... that was driven by woke white karens and kevins... not really the people tgey claimed were offended

Commanders have been soft against the run. I like the matchup for the Steelers offense, but their defense is worries me, particularly the secondary.

Need big games from Watt and Highsmith.

Good morning all! Weird watching the game at 10am. With the wife in Las Vegas for our 30th anniversary. Found a big Steelers bar, PT’s Place. Every TV on the Steelers and the place is filled with Steelers Fans. Ran into a bunch of Steelers fans last night at the Billy Joel and Sting Concert.

Here we go Steelers!

We should be able to run on them...should be. We seem to always refuse to exploit opponent weakness, let's hope we have turned a new leaf with this offense.

Hopefully Teryl Austin can confuse Jayden Daniels with Pressure at the line of scrimmage. The one thing the Steelers Defense can't do is sit idle and only rush 4 people.

We need TDs and not those FG things....a few TOs by our D would be nice also. Hopefully we play aggressive coverage today. Get it done Tomlin!!!!
