If climate talks stall, pope may intervene

LE BOURGET, France (AP) -- If international climate talks really stall, don't be surprised if there might be an ever-so-slight intervention by Pope Francis.

"If it gets to a stalemate or whatever, he may utter a statement or make a comment or whatever, but he will refrain from exercising any coercive power on the things over here, because that would not belong to his style," Turkson told The Associated Press after a press conference by Vatican officials Tuesday at the Paris climate talks.

If the pope did intervene with a gentle statement if negotiations bog down, it would "show the gravity of the situation and highlight what's at stake".

Did you ever watch the movie 'The Arrival'?

Commie Pope is like many of the old school popes. He is more concerned with the amassing of earthly power than he is with spiritual matters.

He's all about redistribution of wealth, which is of course what the climate deal is about, so it make perfect sense.

He is a Marxist. And stupid. Not an uncommon juxtaposition these days. The depth of study and corresponding understanding of economic systems is incredibly shallow generally, otherwise this crap would be recognized generally as an historically proven failure. I am a Catholic and this guy is really putting a hurt on us.

Early on he made some needed reforms in the Vatican but he is simply a South American Communist with no understanding of capitalism or where money comes from.

Because clearly understanding capitalism is his mission in life. Because that was Jesus mission on earth. He was all about big business ****** over poor people. Turning over tables in the Synagogue was because he was pissed that business was so slow. You people are truly ******.

Jesus turned over the tables because religious people were being ripped off to go into the temple. BTW this was nowhere near the Synagogue. It was in the temple court. Jesus never talked about 90% of the things this pope talks about. Maybe he should get back to what Jesus was about and leave the rest alone? Jesus NEVER stuck his nose into governmental affairs.

He doesn't understand anything. Would you like me to list the results of Marxist governments? The ignorance is astounding. We are truly ******, I agree.

Ok Chief, what was Jesus about. You tell me, cause I've read the book at least 20 times and he sounded about as much like a radical type communist as they come. Take care of the poor, don't judge other people, forgive people who wrong you even if they harm you in his name. Sounds like a real capitalist stance to me. What do I have to do to get to heaven Jesus- Sell everything you own and give it to the poor and come follow me.

Does he say to steal from other people to do these things? Or, even worse, elect other people to steal for you .

Before we commence, let's get on common terms. Are you saying that Capitalism is against the teachings of Jesus, and Marxism is in alignment with the teachings of Jesus?

No, I'm saying that if Jesus teachings have nothing to do with capitalism WHATSO ****** EVER. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven.

No ******* idea how to argue with you.

You are not arguing with me friend, you are arguing with the teachings of Christ. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself.
So long as your neighbor lives in a relativity similarly appointed home in your neighborhood? Oh and Ron, Jesus was one of those brown fellows you were referring to in another thread.

Let's try this. Which economic system allows their citizens to follow Jesus more easily, Capitalism or Marxism?

So it was the high prices in the Temple (sorry I noted synagogue). It wasn't that they had turned the Lord's house into a place of capitalism? Render onto Caesar the things that are Caesar, and render unto God the things that are God's. Sounds like he talked about tax there a little bit sport.

The socialist/ marxist governments perverted themselves into creating secular only societies. That doesn't mean that capitalism and personal greed and big fat ******* living on amounts of money that could feed village after village, of people is aligned with the teachings of Christ. Cause they aren't.

Jesus never preached about having the government take your money and give it away, He preached voluntarily giving to the poor and needy, not because you have to but because you want to. Sounds much more free market to me as well as closer to conservative values of directly helping those in need rather than letting someone else do it for you with money you had to give them.

- Jesus should we pay taxes.
- Let me see the coin friend.
- Who's face is on it.
- Caeser's.
- Render unto Caeser, the things that are Caeser's. And render unto God the things that are God's.

I would say it is, specifically, more like capitalism because it is not forced and is of free will.

Follow your faith Man. You seem to have a good heart. Know this though. When you cede individual moral authority to a government, very bad things always happen because people suck. You get Stalin, Mao, the Khmar Rouge, and most recently ISIS. The Founders researched extensively on forms of government and economics that would provide the most freedom to the citizens, and religious freedom was a prerequisite. Read Thomas Paine, De Tocqueville, and The Federalist Papers.

Oh, forgot about Capitalism specific reads - Locke and Adam Smith.

Irrelevant to this discussion. Besides, it wasn't an insult, just an observation. Nice try but a swing and a miss.

I was just pulling your chain Ron. You know I like reading your ****, its usually very entertaining, but I must admit that I prefer the Steelers stuff and am pretty surprised with the level of hate in here.

It was because they were transacting business inside the temple that Jesus chased out the money changers. It had nothing to do with the actual business, it had everything to do with profaning the sacred grounds.
