Because tolerance, inclusion, fairness, etc.In related news, FEMA official tells crews to avoid houses with Trump signs.
This is not at all surprising.

Of course it isn’t.
We have a dark history. From slavery, prejudice to internment camps.
I would say we’ve been lied to as well. None of us weren’t alive so we can only base opinion on written history. There’s a very high chance even that has been manipulated over the years.
I never really traveled the world like you. I was born and raised in Albuquerque. Met and am married to a girl from Downey, CA whose uncle convinced us to go to college in Athens, GA where his wife is from. So I’ve seen hellholes like Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Atlanta. But I’ve also got to meet people in said places.
Even with it’s faults I am proud to live in a country where I can have an opportunity and freedom to pursue whatever floats my boat.
And it’s people like you who keep our freedoms alive. I know it’s cliche and you probably get that a lot.
If you take out the racism, the 50's and 60's were a great time.I wouldn't include slavery. Yeah it was bad but It wasn't exclusive to the United States. It was the way of the world going way back even before biblical times.
I would replace slavery with racism and discrimination.
The 50's and 60's were especially a horrid time in this country.
"We'll have those n*****s voting democrat for the next 100 years".... President Lyndon Baines Johnson
You have to acknowledge it was there. Slavery has been a part of every nation practically. That I agree.I wouldn't include slavery. Yeah it was bad but It wasn't exclusive to the United States. It was the way of the world going way back even before biblical times.

For me it was the 50's...the music, the cars...would like to go back in time just to visit that era.If you take out the racism, the 50's and 60's were a great time.
Where I live the steel mills were going full-bore and anyone who wanted a good-paying job could have one.For me it was the 50's...the music, the cars...would like to go back in time just to visit that era.
But the 60's...along with the racism, there was Vietnam, the riots on campuses all over the US, assassinations on JFK and MLK, the emergence of illegal drugs and the psychedelic era, Charles Manson.....wow.
I remember my parents speaking of "the end times" about how we've lost this country.
Just like we've been doing today!
Oh yeah, I remember my dad a steelworker saying he could walk into any factory and get a job on the spot...and if he didn't like it he could quit and get another one someplace else the next day.Where I live the steel mills were going full-bore and anyone who wanted a good-paying job could have one.
I definitely think this was a big part along with the assassination attempts and the ridiculous spin the SS tried to use. 2 things surprised me on election night based on exit polls and that was where abortion and immigration ranked on the issue list. Both were coming in around 12 - 13%Everyone has brought various reasons as to why the demonrats lost to Trump...all valid.
I'd like to believe part of it was also in retaliation for everything that was thrown at the guy by way of weaponizing the justice system in order to be rid of him....you know the story...the Russian Collusion hoax, the 2 impeachments, "lawfare" involving bogus claims of him trying to overturn the election and the possession of illegal documents, Stormy Daniels....and what a lot of people forgot about was charging Trump with violating the Constitutions Emoluments Clause.
Also a Bill Of Attainder, which is illegal. NY state changed the law regarding the statute of limitations on the bogus sexual assault case and it's unconstitutional to pass or change a law specifically to target one person.Everyone has brought various reasons as to why the demonrats lost to Trump...all valid.

Wow, now I vaguely remember something about that. ThanksAlso a Bill Of Attainder, which is illegal. NY state changed the law regarding the statute of limitations on the bogus sexual assault case and it's unconstitutional to pass or change a law specifically to target one person.
Believe me, it was hard being a gearhead and broke-*** college student seeing my friends who went straight from high school to the steel mills driving around in brand new Trans-Ams and 4x4 trucks.Oh yeah, I remember my dad a steelworker saying he could walk into any factory and get a job on the spot...and if he didn't like it he could quit and get another one someplace else the next day.
He retired from Sharon Steel.
that's sexiss and mysoginistic. close the steel mills. riot against steel. we don't need steel. sexiss and raysiss steel mills have no place in our current world. we can just buy our steel from China until we can order it off Amazon.Believe me, it was hard being a gearhead and broke-*** college student seeing my friends who went straight from high school to the steel mills driving around in brand new Trans-Ams and 4x4 trucks.
It ended up working out for me because within about five years most of the mill jobs evaporated and a lot of them had to leave the area to find work. They generally ended up someplace warmer so it worked out for them too.
I was a summer laborer in a steel mill in 1979 which was the last year that anyone was summer labor. Mills started laying off early in 1980 and never got back to what they were. I can lay claim to being a former steelworker. Crucible Steel ID #28665.
The way it was, when you got out of high school you either went to college, the steel mill, or the military. If you chose college you could get a summer job in the mill and make enough money to pay for your next year of college. If you chose the mill, by the time you were 25 you could have a nice house and your wife could stay at home and raise the kids.
