You have to decline 5th year option on Harris

No excuses, no one cares

And how long before this becomes the Duck Hodges season where the really mediocre teams go let's play run run pass and every series we punt is fine. Just don't risk turning ball over.

We still were .500.

Tired of all the excuses, no one cares
The fact is our entire team is suffering from our OL play. Everyone is tired of our offense getting less than 100 yards a half. ***** about the coaching then. The ownership for keeping this ragtag group(coaches) here and not expecting more from them. I read in another thread how Etienne was still there for us when we took Harris. Again.... What the **** would he do behind this pathetic group of players on our OL? Harris very well could be thriving in Jacksonville if he was there. It all starts in the trenches. On both sides of the ball. And we have been horrible in both trenches. We have talent. So who should be held for the blame? Harris? Perhaps. Watt? We have been gashed on the ground. Gashed in the air. Fitz? Who is the blame on D?

We have a below-standard team. It is what it is. The blame can be dished out to probably everyone. in the organization. From the top down. If going .500 or better means keeping Canada then I hope we don't. I have zero faith in Tomlin and/or our ownership to straighten this ship out in the coming years. None.

Look, I whined about the Harris pick more than anyone.. I despise first round picks used on any RB, but I fail to see Warren as a better or worse option than Harris… O think the blocking scheme is atrocious and basically nobody has any success behind it… Harris had a 4.5 yards per touch today, Warren 4.2. I dont really see the difference.. now if you are arguing that Harris isn’t going to be worth the 9 mil 5th year, I mean i will buy that, nobody is behind this atrocity of a scheme…
… but I bet they give it to him regardless… because they see what they want to see

Speaking honesty I never liked this pick of Najee in the first round. The organization neglected to solidify the OL but instead went after what they thought were shiny toys in Najee and Freirmuth with their first two picks.
I wanted the center Creed Humphrey in the first rather than Najee. I’m ok with Freirmuth but it troubles me he’s a poor blocker and they have to get him to improve there.
As it stands today absolutely would not pick up his fifth year option. He’s not earned it! And if you could trade him before the deadline if the return is no less than a third, I’m doing it. I’d be ok featuring Warren for now.

So you have a **** oline and coach at your job? Nice.
I love it when guys compare their mundane, everyday occupations to professional football players' jobs. Like they're remotely the same. lol

Warren ypc 3.9
Harris ypc 3.9
Warren: Undrafted free agent.
Harris: First round pick.

I liked the Najee choice, and I've supported him to this point, but sooner or later he has to move the needle, or it will become completely clear that the Steelers took him way to early in the draft. He just hasn't been good enough overall to overcome this offense's shortcomings. One would hope that he could at least make some difference.

I thought the whole thing was summed up when they hit DJ for an 8 yard gain on first down and ended up punting without a penalty. That is damn near impossible right there.
^^^this^^^

I saw that as well and thought, pad me up and let me call the play in the huddle. ONE ****-ing play.

Salute the nation

Through seven games, he’s carried the ball more than 14 times once. Like with Pickett, how can you objectively evaluate the guy’s performance?

I think you have to look at his whole body of work since being drafted.

I just come back to two things:

1. He just isn't very explosive.

2. He is handcuffed by a ****** O-line and ****** schemes.

For me it is where he was drafted. I am not sure he is good enough for his draft status. I do think he would be better say on the Titans. Or an other run capable team...maybe the rats or clowns in division.

He is the type back that would do well on a team that has a top tier running game and one who doesn't meh.

Like this team he is consistently inconsistent. So there is an aspect of him being handcuffed here. Some of it is what he can create on his own.

A mixed bag. But not something I would be hell bent to keep in the pantry. I would just as easily put him and a bowl of candy out on Halloween.

You know they would get on any given day a trick or treat...

I'm not sure Najee is guaranteed to get another contract by any team. If he does, it won't be for much and it'll be for a backup role. There is nothing about him that is special or being worthy of a starting role,

Oh I think he would be given a chance to start somewhere sure. Not sure his play warrants otherwise. He can be a bulldozer at times. Just not a consistent bulldozer, sometimes he is a garden tool.

OLine is a group that needs some revamping for sure. What I don't get is that we spend a 1st round pick on a guy and groom him for a few weeks. He gets a start and by most reviews does a helluva job. But instead of letting him play and gain experience we trot back out Moore, who is serviceable but definitely not a 1st round talent.
