Options at QB1 (including rumors of offer to Darnold)

Just hard to take seriously the opinions on that situation of people who can't spell the name of a veteran future hall of fame quarterback.

Nobody gives two phucks to spell Erin Raggers name right cuz he’s a tool

But he’s very likely soon to be our tool

And Erin Raggers, PK Milkcat, GP, and Mikey???

What could go wrong…about to be some comic gold err a superB 🦉

You are joking right? Rogers is probably one of the most over rated qbs ever.

We haven’t even signed Rodgers and I’m already sick of him as a Steeler. I hope they cut bait tomorrow and sign Wilson and be done with it.

We now have Rudolph and Skylar. Sign another vet for under 10 million per like they did with Rudolph. Draft a guy in the 1st or 3rd and let the QB's battle it out in the preseason. I would hate to draft a QB in the 1st since we need at least one DL starter from this draft but the Steelers have screwed this up so bad, they almost have to start drafting guys and see what happens.

Once we sign Rodgers, if Shadur Sanders drops to us @ #21, what would you do?

Wait until 2026 when the QB crop is 100 times better. Like I said in another thread, I would not touch Sanders with a 10' pole.

If he is there i trade out of the pick. Better safe than sorry.

Not interested in moving back, they need the DL pick in the 1st. Not sure I agree with moving up into the 2nd round either, too many needs.
Plenty of options at DL even dropping back a few picks. Moving up also wouldn't mean this year's picks we can use next year's knowing we are getting more in comps.

It would depend on who is still available, how far back, and what extra pick do you get. But I agree moving back a few spots might work.

I definitely don't agree with using this year AND next year picks when odds are they could still need a QB next year too.

I am just looking at the fact we likely get an extra 3,4,5,6 next year and maybe 3,3,5,6 if Fields plays well. That gives us some freedom to use some of next years picks and still have capital.

Your position is that we would move back and get an ADDITIONAL 3,4,5,6 NEXT year? That seems almost like a Cooch prognostication.

Or are the extra picks what you believe they get in compensatory picks? If that is so, what are you getting for moving back?

Sounds like you are conflating two different thoughts.

Those are Comps, I am not talented enough to get Cooch picks back in a trade for a player not under contract. Trading back a few spots would likely not net a second round pick we would have to trade down and likely use a midround pick swap to get back into the second without giving up the first entirely which we can't afford to do.

That makes more sense, though I would have to believe that we would get at least a 2nd and something else to give up #21 if not picking in round 1

He may slide to the second round from things I have heard. I would consider him in the second if you can trade down and pick one up. I wouldn't touch him in the first unless we get no one else in free agency.
When would you touch him? 2nd date?

As it stands today, there's probably only 3-4 first-round prospects in next year's class. That is assuming Manning is a stud and enters the draft and Drew Allar, who probably shouldn't be a first-round prospect.

Taking a QB this year would not stop me from taking another next year
Depends on where you take them. Mid rounds? Sure, load up. Back to back first round, not gonna happen. First this year, mid round next...sure. Mid round this year, first next year...yup.
