Don't remember where I heard or saw it but a reporter was talking about never having seen a player who needs so much attention from other players on the sideline. I know I noticed a few times guys like Brod and Washington talking to him, settling him down. Both were his teammates at Georgia, and below him in the pecking order there, both bit players by the time he left in '22. It's odd that the role players need to babysit the star receiver. I wonder how far back it goes if they automatically knew they needed to always be there for that.

I agree. There is a very obvious change to the way the team has drafted since Khan/Weidl replaced Colbert. Everyone has noticed the focus on building the trenches that was ignored at the end of the Colbert era, but there has also been a trend towards captains and leaders instead of talented head cases who drop a round or two.

I believe you misunderstood my intent. I'm not a Hurts "Hater" in the slightest. But, you can't say he's a Super Bowl winning QB so that makes him a great QB. I mean, you don't think the Redskin's locker room didn't count on Doug WIlliams? You don't think the Raven's Lockeroom didn't respect Dilfer's voice in the huddle? All I'm saying is that an average QB can win a SB with a great team around him. Hell, look at Ben Roethlisberger's lack lust performance in that first SB win. Tape is also just pointing out that Hurt's numbers don't support your narrative. Perhaps like Ben, Jalen will grow into a first ballot Hall of Famer by putting the team on his back and throwing a game winning touchdown that is still marveled today as one of the best throw and catches in SB history. But Hurts today, he's a good QB but not a great QB. Don't forget, he went to a Superbowl without Saquon, but won a Superbowl with him. Food for thought.
Never said he was, I said he was top 10, but in the NFL at QB that doesn't make you elite. Burrow, Mahomes, Jackson and Allen are the only Elite Tier QB's in the league.
Pickens was far and away the Steelers WR1 last season and yet ranked 54th in the NFL with 59 receptions. A deep WR room with bad QB play could justify those numbers, but my goodness, the Steelers barely had another NFL-level receiver on the roster and he still couldn't produce high-volume numbers.
