Pickens being traded to Dallas?

Only in your mind, it's perfectly acceptable to many people.

“THEY THE CHEAPEST ORGANIZATION. AIN’T NO STACKING YEAR AFTER YEAR THEY GONE LET THEM N*GGAS GO TOO SOON AS IT’S TIME LMAO”
no it isn't

crappy english is crappy english

I don't know what's forbidden to post these days in here but Pickens posted on SI social media:

They had him take it down but the damage was done. The Rooneys ain't getting rid of that rep so easy.
🤡

But truely, you ARE a barefaced clown.

First of all, I don't see the money they make changing. It's pretty much guaranteed with the TV contracts and other things.

But what I am trying to say is that the accusation has been made that Rooney puts the money he makes over winning. I really do think that is as harsh and accusation you can make about the owner of a sports team, and it requires proof, not speculation. I am of the belief that the decisions Rooney makes as it pertains to the coach specifically is about tradition, about doing it the way they have always done it, because it has been successful. I don't think he is making those decisions to protect his bottom line. I don't agree with them keeping Mike Tomlin, either, but I don't think it's about staying just competitive enough to make his money and nothing else matters. That has been the accusation of some on here.

I'll ask this question again...I haven't gotten a response yet. If you really believe Rooney is about his money over winning, why still be a fan? I am not questioning anyone's fandom, or saying they have to believe the way I believe or whatever, but if you believe it's money over winning it's kind of hopeless. What is the point?
I don’t know that he values money over winning. I don’t think he does, but I think the argument can be made based on the fact that outside of the regular season, the Steelers haven’t won much in a while. From Rooney’s perspective, as long as ***** are in the seats and folks are buying merch, who cares? Right? You got Mike Tomlin, king of the cliche and regular season warrior guiding the ship and there is no loss of attendance or merch sales, and on top of that there is a large portion of the fan base that worship at the altar of never a losing season. Why would you change that? Your coach is popular, your team is popular and you haven’t had a run in 13 years but you’re still making money hand over fist in the hopes of a championship run that just never seems to materialize. For well over a decade. Sometimes people get complacent. It’s easier to get complacent when you’re wildly financially successful. It’s not hard to believe it’s happening in Pittsburgh.

Cooch you have always bordered on racist,

I think you just crossed the border.

SMH

Just wait, Cooch will be liquored up here shortly and then his true thoughts on "people who talk like this" will come to light.
It's you who gets boozed up each night, not I. "Kitty got into the hard stuff again."

So we're Cleveland in other words. Wait, they've had a playoff win more lately than we have. S---.

Pickens said he did not post this and was on a plane with no service when this was showed around. It appears to be a made up screenshot. https://nypost.com/2025/05/11/sports/george-pickens-denies-ripping-steelers-after-cowboys-trade/

So Hurts is these guys?

ANY TALK SHOW IN AMERICA & the NFL world as a whole VALUES QB's leading teams to SB's yes or no? They are judged by that...Yes or no?

Yet you are totally discrediting the QB of BACK TO BACK SB appearances...

So who was the QB that did all this stuff? It never happened? He did not lead? You don't think the Eagles Locker room counts on Hurts? You don't think the roster respects his voice in the huddle?

I do not know what more the man can do to...Back to back SB appearances & just won the freakin chip as the QB...And you wanna snatch it from him?

That is what is called a Hater...

Hurts did not have back to back SB appearances.

He is top 10 but wouldn’t call him elite. Really good. I agree on Lamar but the consensus is he is elite. Those 4 are the only consensus the rest are debatable to higher degree based on various factors. Yeah I would not complain to have Goff.
Big Ben threw for over 4500 yards twice in 18 years. Goff 4 times in 9 years. Goff 32 TD’s twice in 9 years….Big Ben 4 times in18 years.
Did you consider Ben Elite? Just messing with ya Lebanon. But Goff isn’t doing so bad. Been to one SB so far.

FINALLY you got one thing right on this thread...🎤

:geek:
Yinz edited it and still kept it “on” this thread huh, one could debate that is one thing wrong “in” your post…🎤

But Big Ben got him in the 500 yard passing outings. 😉

Yes I edit my posts, that is in my nature...My last post on this topic

JALEN HURTS is the Super Bowl MVP...

I get tired of DOUBLE STANDARDS...QB's get judged on winning & when they actually win. it wasn't anything the QB did

Tired of it...Just spin whatever narrative you guys want. Whatever narrative one wants to paint you can do it...

But....Just remember this ...Hurts won...SCOREBOARD BABY (Jim Rome)...Hurts is the QB of record not freaking Barkley...Go actually look that stat up

Just don't get the Jalen Hurts hate...Stop spinning dumb narratives

QB's are judged by winning...Then when they win all you guys do is tear them down...TIRED OF IT

Hurts won...Quit down-playing it.

Let me repeat JALEN HURTS is the Super Bowl MVP...He won the TITLE & is the SB MVP, which means he was at his best in the most important time of the season & won at the very highest level... Yet many in here swear he ain't a top 10 QB ?

QB's have a won-loss record...The disrespect for him on this forum makes me wonder how some of you guys really evaluate "Football Players"...

It's an interesting discussion. If you have ever read the book "Three Bricks Shy of a Load" about the 1973 Steelers, Roy Blount talks to a guy who said the Rooney's were not highly regarded around Pittsburgh for a long time...the inference was that they didn't win and were just concerned about money. Kind of the same gripe as today. It just seems to me when things aren't going as well, it is an easy fall back position. So for 40 years it was about money, then from 1972-1980, they didn't worry about money. The 1980s? Money. Even in the 90s when they would let the likes of Chad Brown or Leon Searcy go in FA...money. From 2004-2010 or so, money must have taken a back seat. Since then? Money. I understand it's said out of frustration...or do people really believe it? And again, I'll ask, if they do, why continue to be a fan? It makes no damn sense. How can anyone root for an organization they feel is putting the bottom line over winning? To me this is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to complaints. What is legitimate, and what is just foolishness.

Not implying 4000 is a bad thing at all

Quite the opposite: that he wasn’t a “fail” as suggested but more so an overdraft by the Steelers. I’d call 4000 in 4 years a solid pick…a great pick if it was in the 3rd.

If he was a 3rd he likely would still be here imo as the decline of a 5th year option never plays out and he is likely signed to a 2-3 year extension as 3rd round RBs wouldn’t command too much $$$.

Hopefully the new acquisition plays out along these lines and gets over 4000 and is resigned.
So a RB signing an extension gardeners more $$$$ on his next contract if he was a higher draft pick than a lower draft pick if their stats are equal? Really? That would be the lower draft pick pay day contract. No?
