100%. There's a few promising players but not a single one I'd call a building block. And with this coaching staff don't count on any development.

This is as bad as I can recall in my 50+ years following the Steelers.

I remember '85,'86,'87 and '88. They were pretty bad. What made it worse was you still remembered the glory days not to many years before. We are pretty far away from any glory days now.

The thing is, in the NFL you can turn things around pretty quickly. That is what really stings now. We know this coach can't do that.

The owner is content with what his team accomplished a long time ago. He's also content with the culture that was built being completely gone,it's ashes.

It’s sad that the bad losses have become so frequent. I used to listen to 93.7 The Fan all day after one, it was cathartic, then by Tuesday or Wednesday I’d start getting fired up for the rebound, and it usually came.

Not anymore. I expect Indy and LA to thrash this team because they literally have no fixes for this defense. If/when ARod or DK misses a few games, it will get even worse.

Chuck Noll along with Bill Nunn took this team out of the ashes and dominated the 70's with 4 championships. Those draft picks built the dynasty, many of them in the HOF. Disgrace that LC isn't there.

Cowher took over and continued the Steeler way, building his team in a similar fashion.

Tomlin took over a championship caliber team and did squeeze out a Lombardi with it (think about it) then went on to coach a .500 team since then.

Mr. Rooney, I understand the ideals of a social, progressive, DEI hire brought forth by a rule with the Rooney name on it, but the goal of any team is to win championships, not participation trophies. It's time, and the transition maybe painful, but the next Chuck Noll is out there, find him.

L.C. Greenwood has made the next cut of senior players this year. I'm hoping this is finally his year. He should have went in 5 years after he retired.

He was drafting some good players in the process of those bad seasons.Lloyd,Woodson, Dawson..ect. At some point you have to drop down a.little to rebuild.

This hire mercenaries at the tail end of their career just so you can win a couple more games before you crash is bullshit.

Yes, coaching absolutely helps but I would offer a franchise quarterback is a necessity in the NFL

And of course, a huge part of that was not drafting a young man right in their own backyard to play quarterback in 1980.

Seems coaching can play a huge part in defining bust or franchise guy…so while a solid/good QB is essential poor coaching will prohibit any potential franchise guy from actually playing to his talent level.

We’ve seen a lot of this in the league recently.

Unfortunately we lack a developer of talent.

The stars got old and retired. They had been drafting late for a long time. Which is the punishment for success.

Cowher came at the perfect time to take over a team that had talent, but needed some new energy.

And Cowher is a Pittsburgher who carried that torch well.

Tomlin’s ship’s sail diminished as inherited players left. No sails the ship floated off the edge of the earth.


Cowher did more than jurist steer that ship, he added to the sails and thinking about it, Tomlin isn’t
even in Bill Cowher’s league.
