Joe Starkey says the Steelers have the best front 7 in the AFC, the best Oline in the AFC, the best offense to go against Houston in the AFC. Says our defense will smash Houston, we will be in the AFCCG. He says we are actually on a 4 game winning streak because if DK plays we beat Cleveland. Says Highsmith should've sacked Lamar so that game really didn't come down to a FG.

What a moron, every hypothetical or should've should go the Steelers way, then list how NE almost lost to this team, and how Denver lost to this team, and Buffalo scraped by here.
 
Yeah. I'm listening to 93.7 The Fan. It's pretty solidly "we win on Monday" stuff. I still have my deep doubts.

Just now - The chance of us going on a run is huge. Something is going on over there. With DK and Watt we definitely win that game.
 
I could go back from the start of the season and show a "what if" scenario that by season's end would make us undefeated.

That wouldn't change a dang thing as to the ability of this current team.

The Texans are for real and no to take lightly.

Obviously I want a win, (no what ifs). I also know we just had a big win and the Tomlin-flow-chart says we are doomed for a down game.

Coryea, yes I’m listening in utter disbelief to Starkey’s bullshit.
If Metcalf had played the Steelers would have won in Cleveland and would be on a five game win streak.
Like I said yesterday, Starkey is all over the board. Had Loop made that kick Sunday night everything would be doom and gloom from Starkey.
Starkey is full of wind, piss, and excitement!

You’re correct Coryea about Madden. He does at least keep it real.
 
I have no problem with him thinking maybe they can do something here, but to say stuff like we have the best front 7 in the AFC, we just gave up 5.0 ypc and like 150 yards passing in the 4th qtr. We have the best Oline in the AFC, the best offense to face Houston over all the other AFC teams. The one really good defense we played down the stretch shut us down, but he just dismisses that because we were missing DK, because Cleveland wasn't missing players, their starting RB, two Olinemen.
 
Look, I really hope the black n’ gold can win this game, I really do. Been following this organization for more decades than many on here have been alive so of course I bleed black n’ gold.
I also watch other teams most notably the Texans since I live in Houston.
Believe me the Texans are not the Ravens and sure as hell are not the Browns.
Steelers young improving OL will be severely tested by an excellent Texan’s DL.
Just refrain from getting too cocky here and hope for the Steelers A game. They’re going to need it!

That’s just utter ridiculous crap coming from Starkey.
Best front 7 in the AFC! Our defense ranked like 26th in the league.
Best OL in the AFC! Young and improving yes, but offense ranked like 25th in the league.
Starkey knows better , I just think he tries to stir **** up to get the fans to call in.
 
14 NFL Coaches have coached at least 20 playoff games, Joe Gibbs has the highest winning %, Noll 3rd Cowher 5th, Mike Tomlin dead last .414 that's why I have 0 confidence Mike Tomlin.

Now we are going to hold Houston to 11 yards rushing. Hahaha it just gets better.

One of the dumbest statements made regarding the 2025026 season. We lost to Cincy, who has the 2nd worst defense in the league. In that game, DK had 3 receptions for 50 yards and zero touchdowns.

That’s an interesting point about 20+ playoff games and Tomlin is last place in % wins. Also consider most of those wins came with a different Coach’s players.

Argue either way about he had to coach them, but what does that say about different outcomes as those players faded away……………..?

28 NFL head coaches have won a playoff game since the last time Tomlin won one, and all 28 didn't have a top tier QB.

I firmly believe from 2007 thru 2010 Tomlin was not only the chief benefactor of a young franchise QB, and a veteran roster, but he had two outstanding coordinators.
He pretty much had the team on autopilot in that period and pretty much just had to stay out of the way.
He didn’t run the defense and he didn’t run the offense.
He was HC and of course had responsibilities but nowhere near how much influence that he has had in the past dozen years.
 
The same people that were pounding their chests after beating the lions, the week before managing 2 field goals against The Browns 3rd string.
Same story, same idiots.
Sunday was a great win. HOF QB doing what HOF QB do in the biggest moments. Single handedly gave the Steelers a fighting chance, they got a fluke win.
I gotta give Cam credit, for as much as I can't stand him, he was a huge difference maker in the biggest game of the year. for once.
Arthur Smith looked like he was trying to sabotage the Steelers at times, and the clock management/ timeouts were atrocious as usual.

The Texans are the easiest team we could have drawn, Great defense but poor run game, weak O-line, and a one dimensional QB carried by an elite defense.
At home in the cold, its our game to lose.

That's how I remember that time period as well.
 
I do like the Steelers defense going against the Texans-however, I remember last time Demeko Ryans and Mike Tomlin squared off- Ryans ate our lunch. Of course, Bobby Slowick was the OC at the time and our QB was Kenny Pickett. Going against the Texans Defense is going to be challenging. Rodgers is going to have to let the game come to him. This could be another down to the wire game.

I didn't mind the homerism calls yesterday-first day after the game. It was a damn good game. Now that the congratulations are over, time to get to the x's and o's
