LOL, The homerism is running wild on Pittsburgh Sports radio today,

LOL, now he says Tomlin is the 3rd best coach in the AFC playoffs.

From a career perspective he is the best but that is a different argument. He may be the best tactician in the AFC but strictly based on his play this year I am not sure where to rank him.

Matt Williamson has said all season we have one of if not the best front 7 in the league. Talent wise we may. Scheme and some injuries have kept it from being as good as it should be. To stay in the conversation we will need one more DLine very soon.

I'm not sure how anyone could say that, they looked like that maybe 1 game all season. highest paid defense is ranked 26th.

Scheme, and the secondary was very unsettled for a good chunk of the year, The front 7 can only do so much on their own. We also sorely missed 99 when he was hurt. When He and Black get more seasoned the front 7 is looking damn good. We just need better coaching to put it all together.

Never said they were bad or anything, but I can't get behind them being the best front 7 when they are 17th in points 26th in yards. No one is complaining that Baltimore lost their best defensive player in week 1 along their Dline. So every team has to deal with injuries.

To be fair Knox and Shottenheimer coached in 18 playoff games and had worse records... shotty was .278🤣

Lol the Steelers D is basically Dungy's Paper Tiger Tampa D from the 00's... great in theory at least...
 
Something to keep in mind and should be called in to Joe Starkey.
Last playoff game for Aaron Rodgers came as a Packer in 2022.
It was a 13-10 loss to the SF 49’ers.
Aaron was sacked five times. Had zero passing TDs.
The DC for for that 49’ers team was, drumroll please…. DeMeco Ryans.
DeMeco Ryans will be on the sidelines Monday night in the Steel City as HC.
Buckle up Aaron, they’re coming for ya!
Our OL better play their A game.

Totally agree with all that, especially the statement about the weather.
However, the forecast does not look that favorable for a nice very cold evening Monday night.
I was hoping for a frigid windy, snow squall type of Pittsburgh winter evening.

Great information and the tape should be thoroughly utilized to watch that game by the Pittsburgh coach coaching staff..
I believe that totally works to our advantage, if they’re smart enough to take advantage of it…
I have hope because I believe Aaron Rodgers is a high IQ individual, as a great president likes to say

Before Hamilton went down on Sunday night, he was averaging like 3 yards a pass, it was the same dink and dunk as most of the year.

Houston is going to smother this passing game if we try the same thing.
 
Dino, the thing is will Aaron have the time to use that high football IQ.
That Texan pass rush is deadly and will apply an enormous amount of pressure on Aaron.
Those two DE’s are fierce and will be coming.

Trying to make sense is not always the best way to listeners hours on the station, which equals money.
 
I hate when the local pundits start imitating Tomlin pounding their chest. Getting people who know squat hopes up. Like so many of the previous playoff games, even in the Cowher championship games, it usually spells doom.

I prefer low expectations, I imagine the team doesn’t pay any attention to the local BS. I just hope they realize they’re the underdog and in for a dog fight.

With their pass rush he will have to make quick decisions. They have not been as good against the run. Hopefully with DK back and taking attention we can get the backs going.

Baltimore doesn't have a single player the caliber of our front line. That is the biggest reason they were 8-9.
 
Build up the hype for the team and when it eventually crashes down there is a bigger swing with the fans driving more engagement. Winning keeps the interest, losing brings out the rage. They are playing the crowd right now and riding the emotional high for the win. It would be tough to drive ratings if they were trashing the team ahead of a playoff game. Watch the script if and when the Steelers eventually lose in the playoffs.
