You’re right my bad on the score. We gave up 17 points, we lost 17-13.
Their offense was much better than ours.

Great post Coryea, appreciate it. A lot of the Tomlin apologists don’t know these little stats, brings thing into reality.
With the AFC North crown, we will have the tomlin for ‘26, add in a playoff win and it’s a 3 year extension.
Maybe the Tomlin might surprise us and relieve himself of duty …
Salute the nation
He'll be laughing all the way to the bank if he loses to the Texans, might even beat his chest and blow everyone a kiss.If I was paid almost $20 million per year, with minimal expectations and ultimate autonomy you’d have to pry the job of coaching the league’s once best franchise from my cold dead fingers
I expect Mikey to laugh all the way to the bank after beating the Texans
Yeah, you can pull all kinds of stats out. They are not invincible.
How many times did the Steelers under Cowher have top ranked defenses and went on to lose in the playoffs...to teams that weren't even that great offensively. The 94 Chargers game comes to mind.
You might not matchup well...you might not play as well away from home, cold weather, etc. Don't give up before one snap has been played.
Those two teams were mirror images. We gave up 17 points, we lost 17-13.
Their offense was much better than ours.

And don’t forget the Chiefs to 10 points in Kansas City…Nobody's invincible, but they've played a much harder schedule than the Steelers. Held the Rams to 14, Niners to 15, Jags to 17, Bills to 19 etc.
The second they beat Baltimore the season was a success for most. The Fan's morning show is giving Tomlin an A grade for the season.
Lemmings. Give me a few years of a legit post season run. Until then, Tomlin. The second they beat Baltimore the season was a success for most.
Exactly, no one is asking for Super Bowl every single season, but give us some playoff wins, here and there, something that makes us think any season could be ours. Not get embarrassed every post season game for a decade, while getting outscored 73-0 in the first quarter of those games.Lemmings. Give me a few years of a legit post season run. Until then, Tomlin.
I don't think his firing was a statement about his skill level. It seems to be an admission that coaches need to be changed from time to time.Exactly, no one is asking for Super Bowl every single season, but give us some playoff wins, here and there, something that makes us think any season could be ours. Harbaugh won a playoff game in 9 of his 18 seasons, beat Brady and Belicheat in NE with Flacco, embarrassed us last post season, lost by 2 to Allen in Buffalo, then lost to Mahomes in the AFCCG two years ago, yet the Ravens are willing to move on from him.
Either way, it's something this organization seems to not get or don't care.I don't think his firing was a statement about his skill level. It seems to be an admission that coaches need to be changed from time to time.
Demeco Ryans is the one guy on the Texans that scares me.Something to keep in mind and should be called in to Joe Starkey.
Last playoff game for Aaron Rodgers came as a Packer in 2022.
It was a 13-10 loss to the SF 49’ers.
Aaron was sacked five times. Had zero passing TDs.
The DC for for that 49’ers team was, drumroll please…. DeMeco Ryans.
DeMeco Ryans will be on the sidelines Monday night in the Steel City as HC.
Buckle up Aaron, they’re coming for ya!
Our OL better play their A game.
Not one of those guys had close to the talent that Tomlin had on the same filed over multiple seasons.28 NFL head coaches have won a playoff game since the last time Tomlin won one, and all 28 didn't have a top tier QB.
The full list of coaches 20 playoff games coached winning % from highest to lowest:
Gibbs
Belicheat
Noll
Reid
Cowher
Landry
Reeves
Harbaugh
Holmgren
Shula
Carroll
McCarthy

Making the playoffs with potential for a first-round win was the expectation for the season. He's met the expectations. What grade does that deserve? The Fan's morning show is giving Tomlin an A grade for the season.
I get what you're saying but you have to admit the AFCN has been a bit of a train wreck. We got lucky IMO and didn't even beat the Stains.Making the playoffs with potential for a first-round win was the expectation for the season. He's met the expectations. What grade does that deserve?
Incomplete? I think the grade is dependent on postseason outcome.Making the playoffs with potential for a first-round win was the expectation for the season. He's met the expectations. What grade does that deserve?
I don't even have any qualifiers on it because somehow, some way, the Steelers were going to finish around 9-10 wins this season. The question was whether that was going to be enough to make the postseason. It somehow won the division in a weird year for the AFC.I get what you're saying but you have to admit the AFCN has been a bit of a train wreck. We got lucky IMO and didn't even beat the Stains.
I think meeting expectations is some sort of B. Given the free agents and trades, I am leaning toward B- for getting to this point. Win over a very good Texans defense, I'm fine giving him a B or B+ for the overall results. A blowout loss, I'm fine dropping his grade to a C or C+.Incomplete? I think the grade is dependent on postseason outcome.
The thing about that 94 game, everyone says that was a huge upset because the media was all in on the Steelers that game and gave SD no chance. Yes it was in Pittsburgh and the Steelers were favored, but the thing no one remembers is SD had a top 10 defense and a top 5 OFFENSE, they also played a tougher schedule than the Steelers did. That wasn't the upset everyone likes to make it out to be.

Yep. They took him out back down by the creek and laid him to rest. And he was happy about it.I don't think his firing was a statement about his skill level. It seems to be an admission that coaches need to be changed from time to time.
