I'm shocked no one has mentioned bringing in Spindenfall for a workout.

Well.. had you qualified your request for more than "great, experienced RBs who were sitting on the street in Week 9 " - I might have searched harder.
Jackson qualifies as a great experienced RB that was available this season.
Apologies. I should have clarified that I meant guys who are not completely washed up. Otherwise we could look at Franco, Bettis or Fast Willie.
When I hear the words "Hard worker and great attitude" I think camp fodder and practice squader. The truth is that if he was working hard and had a great attitude why did he get 6 carries in 5 games with a 32 year old back in front of him?Tomlin seems to have a lot of good things to say about Toussaint, and I'm sure he's a hard worker and a great attitude guy, which I appreciate. But I haven't seen much in terms of burst or vision from him. Seems like you can pretty much count on 2-3 yards every time he touches the ball. I imagine Todman will get at least 5-10 carries if DW can't go. He at least packs an explosive element.

Reports on ESPN say he was walking around the locker room without a limp and without the boot.

You don't get a great running back halfway through a season. But you can get an experienced one. If he is in the facility for 6 or 7 weeks he can help you in this type of situation. I don't know what to expect from Fitz, but it isn't much.

At least Haley won't waste a whole half trying to run the ball now with him out.

Aditi has a nose...for this stuff...ESPN blows - I'd trust Aditi - she's there every day with them
Interesting list - kinda too late - but, I joked about kicking the tires on Trent Richardson as soon as the injury happen to DW...that was then. this is now.
assume this is next week and we lost because of an inept running game. which of this stellar class of talent would you have brought in, instead of going with the combination of toussaint and todman?

There is a big dropoff from DW no doubt, but don't forget that Tomlin likes to ride one back when he has a guy that can do it all like Bell or DW. LaGuarette Blount didn't get the ball either...
Toussaint is a guy that should allow us to run our offense. He can pass protect and get what's available on the ground (i.e. if the line creates a 2-yard hole, he'll keep it simple and get 2). Any explosive plays will probably have to come from Todman (everyone has forgotten about Todman, but there's any guy with some pedigree / production that was signed to be the #3 RB). I think we'll be fine with Fitz if the stage isn't too big for him and he can at least keep us in 2nd and 7.

They are screwed. They will lose and Sunday and Monday will be a constant war of "It was Tomlin" No "It was Ben"NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports DeAngelo Williams (foot) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bengals.
Rapoport said there is a chance Williams could play in the Divisional Round if the Steelers make it that far. Fitzgerald Toussaint will handle most the backfield duties with Williams sidelined, but Jordan Todman should have a role as well. Pittsburgh should lean heavily on the passing game.
