DeAngelo Williams updates....

If Fitz can protect the QB and make a few runs I would say that moves wouldn't have changed an outcome. But lets see how Steven Jackson and Fitzgerald Touisaint perform in the playoffs before we make smug comments. I'm thinking if Fitz had much promise he would have gotten more than 6 carries before he was called upon. I'm really hoping I'm wrong and he is solid. Not expecting much so I guess it will be easy for him to meet my expectations.

My smug comments were only a response to your saying "we're doomed" without seeing how Fitz might perform!

Steven Jackson has averaged 2.4 yards a carry with the Pats...

Well this makes it interesting playing in sloppy field conditions. Gotta protect the football and play with discipline. That part of the game doesn't change, just who's back there with Ben. I think Toussaint will do fine, he may even surprise us and have a big game. Todman also needs to step it up. At least unlike last year when Tate didn't know the offense, these guys have been here all year. They know what's up.

Honestly, the problem I am seeing is the weather. Looks to be a game you want to run the ball with wind and wintery mix. We are really going to need the line to step it up and make some big holes for the backs. Williams and Bell have done a nice job making something from nothing but I very much doubt Toussaint or Todman can do that consistently.

From what I'm seeing, it's not going to be cold enough for a wintry mix, just rain. The low temp is 40.

Ben is one of the best bad weather QBs in recent times... though the deep pass probably is mitigated by a lot

They are screwed. They will lose and Sunday and Monday will be a constant war of "It was Tomlin" No "It was Ben"

If we lose because Blake gives up a score or a lot of long completions, the loss is firmly on Tomlin.

Hill and Bernard vs Toussaint and Todman. I like Ben vs McCarron but if this turns into a pound it out old style football game I think Cincy has the edge. Now a franchise QB can over come a lot I just would like our chances better if we can establish a running game.

Is a little rain really going to turn the game into "ground and pound"? I used to think like that, but nowadays it seems like NFL teams can pass in virtually any conditions (and a wet field gives WRs an advantage).

Sustained winds from 15-25 mph with gusts over 30 might change that line of thinking, Source Wunderground.com

No big deal if you dink and dunk like the Steelers should do in this game. Ben needs to take the underneath stuff and not get greedy.

A) That's not in the forecast. I'm seeing 7-8 mph wind.
B) No, it wouldn't. You think Ben can't complete a 12-yard pass to Heath or a slant to AB because of a 20 mph wind?

Ben has won two games during hurricanes... as long as we don't go long in the wind he will be fine... he has the arm strength to throw mid level passes in the wind

D Will out officially. What happened to the "I could have played Sunday" quote? News of him walking without boot and having no limp? Poker games, that have zero impact.

40+ yd FG's all day.

Might make going for 2 after a TD more attractive.
