DeAngelo Williams updates....

This is definitely a blow if he can't go. I think the worst part about it is that it'll put Ben in "I have to win the game with every throw" mode which is when he starts making mistakes.

Todman has shown some burst in the past - hopefully he gets some looks as well because I'm far from sold on Toussaint.

MRI said no damage, just pain. This is when you take a shot and play through it. Suck it up and play tough. Steeler football like Ben told Martavius.

I hear what you are saying, but my point is.......If he plays, but can see he is hampered, how long do you stay with him. Do you rtake the "SHOT" in friday practice to test???? Or do you wait till game time??? I'm all for DW playing, but not at 70 or 85% per say. I assume the coaches will make the determination of DW at what ever his percentage of health VS other RB ability compared to that. WE NEED the win and there is no tomorrow so put it all out there. STEELERS 29 / bungles 17

Friday's practice will be a walkthrough...there's no way they would shoot him up for that. The issue is whether he could do more damage to the foot by playing, and if he is shot up then he might not even know that he is doing damage. Weather conditions also might make it very tough...it's going to be cold and wet.

I said bring in the friggen experienced back the day Bell got hurt. No they traded out the bust Archer for the done Jones. What a stupid waste of time. Bring in someone with big game experience and let him know the offense. This is not a one back sport. IDIOT doesn't learn.

OK, big shot, let's hear the names of all those great, experienced RBs who were sitting on the street in Week 9 and just waiting to come in and back-up DW. By the way, we did sign Isaiah Pead, we just didn't like what we saw after getting an up-close look.

Seeing as how Steven Jackson was recently picked up by the Patriots, he may have been available at the time.

You mean the corpse occupying the body formerly known as Steven Jackson? Give me a break guys, why not bring back Franco Harris or The Bus?

There are so many "experienced veterans" you could have signed and few, if any, would have any actual impact over what we already have. You can bring in a lot of them for looks, but, IMO, it would be mostly luck if you picked one of the few who could have any real impact in a game. I'd bet the best result is if you got someone who might not have a full running game or two in them, but their experience would help in the blitz pickup/blocking.

According to others here, Fitz was doing a good job here and you still have Johnson on the roster. Is Nix still on the roster?

It will be hard to tell if Jackson was one of those guys since he is on a cheating system, you don't know how he would really do for non-cheaters.

He did learn. We had 2 vets on the roster this year instead of getting rid of our backup for NOTHING last year. I'd say it's an improvement since DW is still on the roster...

Also Nix is on IR.

Simple. Same thing I said at the time, Pierre Thomas and or Steven Jackson. You don't need unknown commodities this time of year. They could have put either one of those guys in for a series here and there what 7 or 8 weeks ago and they would be fine now. If Mdm Tussaud is carrying the load, they will be hiding him. This will put so much pressure on the pass game, they will be ******. And the worst part is it is an exact repeat of last year. But I sure am glad they brought in a washed out kick returner instead. That was just a great move.

I was def hoping for Pierre Thomas, but what can ya do. D-Will isn't playing. We have to get by without him.

You just don't want to say it. You're thinking it... but you don't want to say it.

Ray.... Beat you like a fiance in an elevator... Rice.

that was then. this is now.
assume this is next week and we lost because of an inept running game. which of this stellar class of talent would you have brought in, instead of going with the combination of toussaint and todman?

4 LaMichael James
5 Trent Richardson
6 Isaiah Pead
7 Zurlon Tipton

You dont have to bring a back in... Just give the ones you have a series a game or at least a few carries to spell the old back you have starting... If they cant cut it during the regular season then you best have a plan for injury....

The day LeVeon got hurt, I would have been on the phone with Steven Jackson.

I would bring none of those or anyone else in now. Ship has sailed, it is too late. Had to be done the week after he was hurt, which is exactly what I said at the time. Then you have time to see what you have. And yes give him a series or two or in some cases a 4th quarter like against the Colts. Instead you have a guy with what 24 carries and 12 of them were last week for a 2 yard average. This is a two back game. If you are saying to yourself, I can't put that guy in during the regular season you are really saying I have one back.

I'd have taken Rice last year after Blount left. I'd have taken Jackson or Thomas this year after Bell was hurt.

Pierre Thomas turned down a bunch of opportunities (like with the Texans after Foster went down) so who knows where his head was at the time. I doubt he would have been psyched to carry the rock virtually never (we all know Tomlin likes to ride just one horse). He probably would have pulled a Blount maneuver after a couple games.

Steven Jackson is just washed up guys.

Ray Rice? That's not even worth the keystrokes....

If DW can't go, look for Jesse James to have an impact. Bengals are vulnerable to TE catches.
I believe Heath caught 10 in last game. Instead of a running back the Steelers could go to more
multiple TE formations and JJ could be beneficiary.

If Fitzgerald Touissant knows what to do and it looks like the guys particularly Ben are confident he knows what to do, I'm fine with it. If it ***** with their timing cause they aren't sure if he really knows what he is doing it will show. Steven Jackson and Pierre Thomas would know what to do. Like Coach Cliche would say, they are been there done that guys. I would say most of this is gonna come down to blitz recognition and a few key plays. I wouldn't expect more than 75 yards rushing from either of those guys, I don't expect more than 45 from either of these. I'm just very concerned that the Bengals are going to be totally loaded versus the pass.

I'd be pretty surprised if DW plays. Nothing that has happened this week seems to indicate that he'll be in the backfield, though I'll be holding out hope.

It's a shame Joe Randle is such a ******* idiot, because he can play RB

Well.. had you qualified your request for more than "great, experienced RBs who were sitting on the street in Week 9 " - I might have searched harder.

Jackson qualifies as a great experienced RB that was available this season.
