RECORD 11 wins 5 loss

This team looks lot like last year. 8 and 8. That is all Tomlin can muster. He cannot prepare a team.

The ol one preseason game and the sky is falling. I will stick to my 12 and 4 prediction.

Yeah its all about one preseason game, nothing to do with back to back 8-8 seasons, a poor head coach and a mediocre roster.

Well, I know in most all occasion, your not as bad as you look, but also are never as good as you look either. Last yerar we didn't win our first game till week 5. This year hoping week 1. That gives us 4 more opportunities to win 3 more, to end up 11-5.

Salute the nation

The worst game I can remember is week 3 in 2008 vs the Eagles. We looked terrible. We couldn't run block, Dawkins was all over our backfield and we were sacked 9 times! After that game I said, there is no way we do anything this year with that O-line. Well, they pulled together, improved and won a Superbowl that season.

The sky is not falling in week 3, and sure as **** isn't falling in the preseason.

Buck up chicken littles, we got a long season ahead of us.

Exactly. Anyone that thinks the Steelers are going to go 12-4 hasn't been paying attention.

Yeah, lets keep slinging that 8-8 narrative around as if its the worse thing that could happen to a team in transition.

Yeah- Let's just completely forget the fact that the team was clearly looking better the 2nd half of last year, with a record to show for it.

Yeah- Let's completely throw that out because the team looked bad against an Eagles squad, with a trick offense, playing at home, who were 0-2 and clearly wanted the W much more than the Steelers.

Quite honestly Franco, I am not sure whether:
1.) Youre not a even a Steeler fan, or a Browns Troll

2.) Some crazed masochist who would rather complain about his team

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news....we are an 8-8 team if we are lucky, which if the past teaches us anything...we are not. :(

Lets look at it this way for a bit. Team rebuilding. Note worthy additions to the team from this years draft class likely to start or play a lot 2, Shazier and Tuitt. Are they likely to drastically improve the team? Last years developmental picks showing big improvement and likely to become starters maybe 1 or 2 only because they had a great deal to improve and our starters were bad. Second year players likely to make a big jump Jarvis not likely, Bell decided to get stoned and arrested, not likely to make a big jump either, but it could happen.

Team had a good finish but stunk up the place during the beginning of the season year before decent 8-8 as well. Looks like at least another rebuilding year and might be more than one. The team has not been able to put together a full season of decent games for a while.

New York moron you sure told me you pom pom waving douchebag. Whoopty do we went 6 -2 down the stretch and beat a bunch of bad teams. Then with the season in the line we got beat in the snow by Miami.LMFAO. We went 6-2 to start the 2012 season and finished 8-8 under the moron, the one you defend to the end who is dumb, sloppy and useless.

I actually enjoy the posts from the usual 'Negative Nancy's' (Vader, Ideotique). At least they provide some subjective arguments and football commentary.

You my friend, do not. Your arguments are that of a 3rd grader.

"I hate Tomlin, he is so dumb"...

Again name ONE thing Tomlin does well. He is a low IQ guy with no strengths. Funny my 3rd grade arguments destroy your nut sucking if the moron. You must be enjoying the terrible state of the Steelers this moron has put us in and his incapability of righting the ship.

It is too bad that the SN board has crashed a few times, since I cannot call up my posts from 2007 and 2008, where I posited that Mike Tomlin was a very good coach. He made the playoffs his first year, and then went 12-4 and won the Super Bowl his second, with one of the most difficult schedules in NFL history.

My opinion about Tomlin changed during the 2009 season. Losing consecutive games to the Raiders (at home), and Browns, with the season on the line? The loss to the Chiefs? Three losses to terrible teams.

That seemed an anomaly, until the 2011 playoffs - losing to a really bad Broncos team and Tim Tebow?

In 2012, the pattern of losing to very bad teams sprang up again with losses to the Raiders, Titans, Browns, and Chargers - the last one with the season in the balance, at home, to a crappy team that had lost 4 in a row and 6 out of 7.

2013 saw a repeat of this pattern with losses to the Titans, the Vikings, the Raiders and the Dolphins - once again, the last one at home, against an inferior opponent, with the season on the line.

5 seasons, 12 losses to really bad teams, three of which basically ended the season.

A good coach does not lose games in three different seasons, at home, to vastly inferior opponents, with the season on the line.

Tomlin did exactly that.

Therefore, Tomlin ... well, you get the point.

Because each year he loses more of Cowher's players.....;)

I'm glad everyone is finally coming around on Tomlin. I guess it takes some longer than others

This is a great post.

I'll just say this in response: I do not think it is a coincidence that the team has gradually descended into mediocrity, as the key players/locker room leaders of the Cowher era exited the scene. It became painfully obvious once the likes of Ward and Farrior retired following the 2011 season, when they got bitchslapped by Tim Tebow.

Given the history of the Rooney's, my greatest fear is that the Steelers' will waste most, if not all, of the rest of Roethlisberger's prime on Tomlin running things.

We were the minority when the team managed to win despite the coaching deficiencies.

Now that the Steelers have failed to win for awhile, due to the influence of the previous coach fading away, the wagon is getting rather heavy.

They will never EVER fire their Rooney Rule hire. Coach Cool Shades will be here as long as he wants to be here, obviously, if you will. I was on the MT bandwagon for a long time too, but I'm starting to fall off unless he turns some **** around. If they don't go at least 10-6 this year Imma be pissed.

I don't see how we can do worse than 9-7. we have a very very weak schedule. if we get into the playoffs we will be destroyed

Another mediocre season will be the end of my benefit of the doubt towards Tomlin
