sure we don't want Ben going anywhere anytime soon. And it seems like he has verbally committed to staying around 2 to 3 more years. Yay.

But some have hypothesized that if the Steelers won a SB he would ride off into the sunset. True or not, let's see what could get us back to that point.

How to win it all:

1. Restructure restructure, money available to do what we need to do.We have already restructured Tuitt and Decastro. Who else is left? Well you can restructure Ben, and AB, Pouncey,Haden, and Shazier. Give or take about 50 mil right there not including what has been done already.

2. Cut some dead weight, it's not too late.Mitchell, Wilcox,Gay, and Sensabaugh. Wipe off about another 10 mil.

3. Bring in a ILBer and FS in free agency. Andddddddd a OLBer

who says the owl?

options

Nigel Bradham, OLB- Age will knock his asking price down. And what better to go from one SB team to another one on the cusp? He could rotate in with Dud I er mean Bud.

Tre Boston, FS - The one year prove it deal for the Bolts worked out well for Tre, he showed coverage capable. A far cry from Mitchell who proved one step late capable....but hey his mouth was all pro.

Avery Williamson ILber - solid run stuffer, we could use one of them.

none of these options breaks the bank, nor do they prohibit the Steelers from double mint double upping in the draft.

Draft BPA @

DE - Sometimes you want to use the 4/3. So let's be proficient at it.
WR -One slot WR down, and baked Bryant is on his last year of his contract.
So you can draft one, even two.(outside capable, slot capable, return capable)
RB- You have a shifty RB, a power RB, now how about one who can get down the field in a hurry?
ILBer- best coverage ILBer available
FS/SS- best coverage-tackle capable available
OLBer- best pass rushing specialist available

4. Bell is signed long term. Time to seal the deal, to start the no distractions year off right. Cleveland just wouldn't lay off those 2 draft picks.

:drum:

5. Fire Tomlin. okokok Fire Butler. okokok Fire Porter.okokok can I at least get some film room get rid of what the **** didn't work on D schematic wise? Work with me, for the love of got damn it man.

My two and a half cents: By bringing in experience at key areas, there is no wait and see if they develop. All listed do not have to be restructured, but there is enough options... to get the job done. (hi)

One, two, three, four, five

win.

I like the cutting the dead weight.
Seen Tre Boston a bit. I do think the entire offense stays intact next season, Bell included.

Solidify at safety and inside linebacker and I think the Steelers make a better push.

Nice write up Slash

I agree with your keys to winning, but zero percent chance he leaves if he wins a title and is one away from tying Bradshaw with four.

I here New England has an free agent outside linebacker that would fit our system

I like anything that has anything to do with Mitchell going bye bye. I seriously can't remember a big play the guy has made.

Can't Remeber if it was his left or right profile of him yelling at the locker door in the tunnel. That was his biggest play !!!!!!!

Great write up slash and I feel if we win SB this year we will see BEN back one more. As for the legitimacy of your rite up I feel it actually could happen if the team wanted it to. Some if's involved but the general consensus could easily happen. Thank You

6. Game plan a hell of a lot better. I mean I'd like real logical well put together plans to destroy and demoralize your opponent. Say plan A, B, C and D is if all else fails send the house fire zone or chunk it to AB.
7. Got to tackle and tackle well! All the time.
8. Save the ******* drama for the daytime soap opera's.
9. One single game at a time. All action, no talk! Your results speak for themselves.
10.Refuse to be denied!

Love the FA additions and dead weight extractions.
In the draft, you are setup to take BPA at only a few positions of need.

1. Rashaan Evans ILB: Teamed with Williamson, they could be fantastic by year 2.
2. Marcus Allen FS: Because you brought in Boston, we are able to take a SS. Allen is like Sean Davis but attacks downhill and actually makes tackles. Would be a nice $backer as well.
3. Auden Tate WR: The combine will cause his stock to soar a bit, but it will settle down prior to the draft b/c of the lack of #'s at FSU. Of course, his deficient #'s were totally in part b/c Francois
went down. He's a 6'5" stud with the balls skills and the ability to attack the ball in the air.
5a. Jeff Holland OLB: Depth and hopeful diamond in the rough attacking the edge.
5b. Scott Quesenberry OG: Foster's last year and Hubbard is gone. Only Finney in the pipeline along with Hawkins.

We in that dead period after the repus lwob ends and there ain't much to talk about? Where's the fitty mock a mock threads already?

You're one of those dreamers, aren't you?

If Ben retires this is a 201K type of team.

I hope he plays three more years.

Quick Mock

1 ) ILB Evans. I like his game vs the run or pass, and he's what we need. A bit like Timmons.
2 ) SS Edmunds a king sized safety who can also star as a nickel linebacker.
3 ) FS Elliot. I like his coverage ability and teams pick on Sean Davis too often. Depth is needed at S.

OR if the above players are off the board

1 ) DT.NT Payne. A beast vs the run, with range to make an unusually high amount of tackles. Can play 3-4, 4-3 nickel or goal lone. A three down player. As a pass rusher he's a bull that can collapse the pocket or swat down balls.
2 ) LB Leonard. A solid replacement for Shazier
3 ) S Allen

That G might be a T if we lose our swing Tackle to free agency.

You really sound like a broken record.

While safety depth is a need, Davis wasn’t the problem on the back end of the defense. Artie regressed, and Mitchell isn’t close to the player he was before.

Sure, but i wouldnt say that Davis spot as starter should be guaranteed, either, he's certainly had his share of brain farts, too. If there's someone on their board who looks like he could be healthy competition for Davis in the 3rd rd or later, lets get him

I still stand by the fact that Davis was trying to over compensate for Mitchell. Trying to force plays and things of that nature. He looked much better in 2016 when Mitchell was a lot better.

Davis lead the team in tackles. Albeit in part due to Shazier’s injury. But he was one of the leaders in stops behind scrimmage, blew up a dozen plays on effort alone and caused turnovers.

Don’t let Coaches’ agenda interfere with actual gameplay.
