Well you can cross Earl Thomas off your list. He was carted off the field with his leg in an air cast.
We've done nothing to address the secondary??? Look, things may not be panning out to be the second coming of the legion of boom, but it's not like they haven't been trying. (besides I think 90% of our issues is the DC and his scheme).
Lets take a look at just the last three years of drafts and free agents.
2016 - we drafted Artie Burns and Sean Davis in the first two rounds of the draft. We then added Brandon Boykin and Justin Gilbert.
2017 - We drafted Cam Sutton and Brian Allen. We then added Joe Haden and JJ Wilcox, also signed Mike Hilton.
2018 - we cut Mike Mitchell, drafted Terrell Edmunds and Marcus Allen. Signed Morgan Burnett and Nat Berhe.
Fact of the matter is they have been trying to add pieces to the secondary for several years now. Even back further when we drafted Senquez and the injury bug hit him like a freight train.
The problem isn't the players at this point. We have plenty of talented athletes on the field, the problem is the scheme. Time to simplify things, get back to the basics, let these players do what they do best (most of the guys drafted or signed recently are better in man to man situations vs zone). Seattles defense was nothing elaborate. It was one of the most simply schemes out there, but that's what made it effective. It let the players just react and instead of analyzing and guessing out of 3-4 different possibilities. Butler needs to go, the 3-4 zone needs to go...
The defense will improve every week we have a young athletic defense. I'm not stressing out about the secondary or the front line. Middle linebacker would be my ultimate pick

Best case scenario is Bell comes in on the bye week so that he doesn't lose 2 checks and we trade him that week to someone for
a #2. Nobody mentions the transition tag, but that makes Bell not necessarily a rental. Team that trades for him can transition
tag him next year and have the option to match his market value offer sheet.
Where Steelers messed up, they should have put the non-exclusive tag on Bell and let him talk to other teams. It would
have allowed him to learn his market value and maybe realize the Steelers offer was reasonable.
Tomlin, who hires or promotes the DC needs to go. I really did not want Burns, I would have taken thet trade down and would have taken X. Howard ( Dolphins ) , and a 3rd round pick Simmons ( Broncos ). Had the Steelers done this, our secondary would be much better.
Was Edmunds the right call in round one? Anyone see Darius Leonard. Oh my, I wish we picked him instead. No disrespect to Edmunds, Leonard looks special.
Not a fan of pick #2 and #3 ( maybe a round later for each ), and doubt Freeman falls all the way to round 5.
A 3 round mock, using a primary and secondary if the primary is off the board for rounds 1-3
1 ) ILB Evans or Vander Esch
2 ) S Reid or Bates
3 ) RB Penny or DT/NT Phillips
******* hindsighted ******. stfu. at no point before the draft did the name "Darius Leonard" roll off your keyboard. NONE. In fact, you even said you'd pass on him for Reid or Bates.

coach seriously just cut the who you wanted in the draft ****. Nobody ******* cares. and besides you had plenty of suck with your picks. You are not a draft guru. You don't even watch full game tapes. So give your tired narrative a rest.Tomlin, who hires or promotes the DC needs to go. Your gimp masks is on too tight.
First off, I was 100% correct on Burns and the trade down. Would you rather have Burns or X. Howard and* Justin Simmons? Sack up and answer that question, if you can. I am correct, Colbert was not.
Secondly, I wanted Reid over Edmunds, and said so on the day after the draft when Evans and Vander Esch were OFF the board. Edmunds is going to be benched. He's not ready, and maybe not good enough. We'll see.
Thirdly, I said I wanted ILB Jerome Baker in round two, not Washington who looks very average so far. Check out how Baker is doing.
Lastly, I did not say Leonard in round one, I'm saying the Steelers would be better off if they picked him in round one. Dude looks awesome.
If you have correct info on something you called, only then can you tell someone to STFU. In this case you have neither.

you directly inferred that you'd have taken Darius Leonard instead of Edmunds.
YOU said that.
Just now.
No one even prodded you to extoll this virtue of wisdumb.
and, at no point did you ever say anything about Darius Leonard. None. Not prior to the draft, and until now, not after the draft.
I called out busts rather easily in the past, and often the guys I would have taken are better. No--I will not be muted here. Just don't reply back, that is your best move, and remember I've got the bigger head.
