Report: AB hurls slur toward Mayock, then offers ’emotional’ apology

He went public saying that he apologized to his teammates and the organization. He didn't say he apologized to Mayock specifically, which is what he needed to do IMO.

Total disrespect to Mayock. Not only by Brown but Gruden and ownership.
Won't be surprised if Mayock resigns.

The amazing thing is, if Antonio Brown is active week 1, he is GUARANTEED just about 14 million dollars. All he has to do is show up for the game active and he can get "turf toe" in warmups and he still gets every penny of his 1st year contract and Rosenhaus can argue for year 2 money as well.

The Raiders HAVE to suspend him or they lose every shred of control they have over him.

Watch them suit him up.

The crazy dumb thing is, they can't suspend him AFTER week one if they let this slide, because they clearly made a ruling and decided it wasn't worth suspending. Thus, no conduct detrimental to the team.

At least we don't have to listen anymore to how the Steelers let him go full diva. Even Tomlin had a shred of dignity. It seems Gruden and Mayock showed up to the party without the lube.

The Raiders played good cop ( Gruden ) bad cop ( Mayock ).

The Steelers played good cop no cop.

Brown pissed off the coaches and players.

A while back I suggested our “B” players in Bell, Bryant and Brown were problems.

I usually root for X Steelers to do well except when we play them. Not so for these three.

As for Brown you just can’t threaten violence or use racial language. He should be suspended for the season and barred from the Raiders with security keeping him out. This guy has a screw lose and if he looses his money I fear there is small possibility he might retaliate with a weapon.

Mayock would need some self respect for that. I think Rosenhaus got all that as part of AB's signing bonus.

Antonio Brown is a racist for using this derogatory term. He used it in anger and in an aggressive and offensive manner.
I'm sure the repercussions/consequences for him doing so will be much the same as if a white player were to use the n word against a black general manager.
I'm waiting..........waiting........

.

AB… who is even surprised? Head case... seriously.

I the Raiders front office... it is clear that Mayock is the GM in name only. If AB plays on Monday night... my resignation would be tendered right after kick off.

If Mayock remains with the team (and AB is still on the roster)… it will be with Mayock's parts being in a jar on someone's mantle (Gruden or AB?).

If AB is on the roster... he will be off the chain again by the end of September.

AB should be suspended for the week. From what I understand... this allows some time for the Raiders to continue to evaluate AB DURING the week of suspension. AB WILL... he WILL lose it. Then you end it and save the money and self-respect and mental health.

Renewed respect for the Steelers and Tomlin.

Fixed it.

As a white man, I'm not going to have false outrage stating that calling someone a cracker vs calling someone the N word are the same. They aren't.

Crackers are delicious. I'm a Town House man, and the wife prefers Triscuits...
Hey what you do on your own time is your business.

:logo:

You can't have 2 standards or you're going to lose even more respect than you've already lost. Suspend the guy and get him to a shrink.

It makes more sense now why he was a fake friend to Ben. He's just a hateful self absorbed prick.

And he's not a Steeler,so best of luck raiders. But not really,**** the raiders!

So if Mayock called AB a "coon".. you think it wouldn't be a big deal, similar to AB calling him a "cracker"?

You and I both know it would be a whole different story. I'll give you the N word being different but coon and cracker are the same type of racial slur.

I couldn't care less about the word cracker being used but equal accountability isn't much to ask, I don't think anyhow..

I am tired of reading this Tomlin didn't reign him in ****. This is a guy who, like Hoge said, is irrational. Discipline works on rational people. Can someone who is irrational all of the sudden change? I doubt it.

Tomlin and the Steelers organization should be given credit for keeping it together for the most part to the end. They were a competitive team for a championship in most of Brown's years here. I would argue that if he was somewhere else it would have blown up long before.

Seriously....I don't know one white person that would actually take offense to the term "cracker" if called that by anyone. One word has more history than the other. Plain and simple.

While I agree that cracker and the N-word are not even close to the same. Is it as bad as Ben using the N-word toward Tomlin? I can accept that it is not.

Cracker was, indeed, meant as a racial slur. That, simply, cannot be denied. The NFL should punish accordingly. I would suggest that if a black player yelled the N-word at a black coach in front of the team, the NFL should suspend that player, too.

There is a comedian who has a bit about the R-word and how he was being told that using the word "retard" is the same as the N-word. He says, " you know how I know that isn't true? Because, to discuss this, we are saying the word 'retard" and only using the phrase 'n-word'"

I like the Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits, and Townhouse, and Ritz and Saltines. I'm TTRS and proud of it!

I agree on both accounts. Whether the person takes offense or not is irrelevant to whether something is intended to be a racial slur.

I can agree to that. Now AB is stating he never said "cracker". And never would use that word. Ummm. Ok AB.

I Don't believe that for a second. Tomlin allowed it to get where it is today. They signed him 2 years ago and still have $21 million going against the cap because of their genius. Credit my ***. They started this by not putting the hammer down and allowing him to do what ever he wanted. The only reason he didn't blow up earlier is because he was a 6th round pick who would have been cut ASAP if he did anything. Once they signed him to big money Clark said he started going off the rails. Tomlin didn't do **** to stop it.
