Complete control of operations? A chance to leave before everyone else realizes he is just an average coach and not this great franchise Coach?

If you think about it there is really no upside for Tomlin to take the job. Think about this:
1. Washington would have to trade away a lot of high draft picks. They may not win 2 games this year. So we're talking top 5 in every round.
2. Tomlin would have zero to work with. They obviously don't have the talent to win now and won't have the draft picks to win in the future.
3. Tomlin still has 3 years left here. 2 of those will be with a HOF QB and a defense with at least 8 1st round picks.
4. Tomlin gets to play the clowns and bungles every year. The rats have a RB at QB for the next few years. The skins play the Cowboy, Eagles and even NY (who are better than them now).
5. Owners... Who do you want to play for? Rooney lets Tomlin do about whatever he wants. Snyder is known as a hands on owner. He's like Jones in Dallas.
I can't think of one good reason why Tomlin would agree to any of that.
Long term contract. He Will hace tomé yo build the teamComplete control of a team that has almost no high draft picks and no talent on the team. It doesn't have a QB. The offense is ranked 30th and the defense is ranked 30th. HE will have nothing to work with. At least here he has an excuse this year and a HOF QB coming back next year and probably the year after that.
IF he knows he's an average coach why go to Washington and get exposed?
This isn't considered tampering?

He are the reasons he may go
1. Security. The Rooneys only gave him a one year extension instead of a multiyear one... people postulated that this means that the Steelers aren’t as committed to him as we think... there were rumblings that a significant minority owner wanted him on the hot seat... if it was Tull or Mcginley then they could probably force a move if they wanted. Giving up a lot of picks would be a get out of jail free card for him... also he has history with the GM there who Snyder adores...
2. Ben may be done... Tomlin might not last without a hof qb to bail him out... assuming ben adds a win or two a season look back and adjust the record by -1 game and tomlin doesn’t look nearly as good...
3. Money... Tomlin isn’t the highest paid coach and unlike Bell he isn’t an idiot... a huge five year contract would assure he can retire comfortably even if he got fired.
4. Legacy. It’s going to be hard for tomlin to make the HOF with his current resume... rebuild the Redskins into anything significant and he becomes a lock...
5. Family... he grew up close by... he has ties to the area... his son is close by...

Tamper on.
Tamper on.
That's the thing, I think Cool Shades believes the hype (outside of Pittsburgh and us weary fans).
Teams are calling all around
It's time I was on my way
Thanks to you Art I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay
But now it's time for me to go
The autumn moon lights my way
For now I smell the rain
And with it pain
And it's headed my way
