The Coronavirus thread

Well we are remote until Thanksgiving starting Monday. It’s just for grades 6-12. My teacher is already getting calls from pissed off parents. It’s not her call but they are treating it as such. I have a feeling we will be remote until after Christmas, but won’t find that out until the day before Thanksgiving.
 
Saw one study yesterday that had virus cases going from 10 mil today to 20 mil by Christmas. Seems like me might be in the compounding phase of the virus.

The death rate from that site is not deaths per million. It stated that it was known deaths divided by number of confirmed cases. If it's done at deaths per million population we are substantially higher than China...........on paper, but probably not in reality.

Good catch. US death rate per capita the past 7 days ranks 32nd, lower than (among others) Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, France, Portugal, Italy, Austria, UK, Netherlands, Spain and Greece.

You guys can't be that big of simpletons. Our mortality rate over last seven days is low because the daily case counts are exploding. Deaths follow the spike in infections, so let me know the mortality rate 3 weeks from now.
Wouldn't be surprised if we are #1. I don't expect many government shutdowns, but rather if deaths start spiking Americans will self-isolate.

First, you clearly stated that “deaths even decline”, now you’re saying that meant “a tiny uptick”? Pathetic. The 14-day average is up 36%.

Second, deaths lag behind cases as people don’t die the same day they contract the disease (how am I explaining this eight months in?), compare the deaths to where cases were two weeks ago and then consider the 14 day average for cases is currently up 69% and rising.

And how does people getting Covid help my bottom line? This should be good...
