Covid Vaccine

So, that would mean these aren't "vaccines" they are shots - like the flu shot - that give a small amount of protection from getting it, and some protection against it getting severe.

Can we please stop calling them vaccines when they are in fact not vaccines.
What do you mean? This board is literally the only place drawing this supposed distinction.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has carefully "evolved" the definition of vaccination to meet the declining ability of some of today's "vaccines," including the Covid-19 vaccines.

The original definition, prior to 2015, stated that vaccines "prevent...disease."

Starting in 2015, the definition was altered to say that vaccines "produce immunity," without necessarily preventing disease.

After the Covid-19 vaccines were introduced, and it was discovered they do not necessarily "prevent disease" or "provide immunity," CDC altered the definition of vaccines again to say that they merely "produce protection."

A recent change on the CDC website should disturb all of us because it appears that the CDC is trying to change how we understand vaccinations. Here’s the “Definition of Terms” for Immunization as captured on August 26, 2021. I’ve highlighted the key points.

Immunity: Protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.
Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.
Vaccination: The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.
Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation. These definitions have been in place since at least May 16, 2018.

Here’s the “Definition of Terms” for immunizations now, which was updated on September 1, 2021, with changes highlighted.

Immunity: Protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.
Vaccine: A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but some can be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.
Vaccination: The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce protection from a specific disease.
Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation.

So in a week, a vaccine went from being something that “produces immunity to a specific disease” to something that merely “stimulates the body’s immune response against diseases,” and a vaccination no longer “produces immunity” to a disease, just “protection” from a disease.Does anyone else find this disturbing? Why did the CDC suddenly redefine “vaccine” and “vaccination” to make them sound similar to your basic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or a prescription drug you have to keep taking regularly? No explanation for the change is given. Is this part of the Biden administration’s efforts to make the public accept regular COVID-19 boosters by changing how we understand the purpose of vaccines? Vaccines, we’re now supposed to accept, don’t provide us with immunity, just protection from disease. This vague definition essentially makes it easier for the government to recommend endless boosters for COVID (or any other disease) because vaccines, they say, no longer make us “immune.” And yes, there are several vaccines that do need boosters, but that never changed our understanding or the definition of vaccines and vaccination.

It's not the only place, but anyway...........the shots seem to more function like the flu shot in that they give a certain amount of protection from getting it, and a certain amount of protection from going severe (hospitalized) if you do get it. I'm not seeing how that is the same as the traditional long standing vaccines out there like MMR, Polio, Chicken pox, etc.

I think messaging from the beginning all around has been horrible and created more push back.

Also, why push this shot more than anything else, and why aren't good healthy behaviors like eating better, being active - taking care of yourself being mentioned more. Isn't that just as important if not more? We know that those with several comorbidities - like diabetes, obesity, heart conditions, etc are in the biggest amount of danger from going severe with COVID. This should be just as big of a message to everyone, but it's not. Hell, there are giveaways of fatty fatty foods and alcohol that have gone in if you go and get your shot. Seems fairly ******* stupid messaging - "The shot will protect you, but eat all the unhealthy **** you want" (insert big ******* eye rolling emoji - right - ******* - here)

Yep. The CDC literally changed the definition of "vaccine" so that it would cover the Chinese flu shot.

Obese more prone to die.

Federal government response: "Close gyms, offer french fries to those getting the shot!"

You cannot make this stuff up any more.

700,000 people had the same odds (actually better odds) until someone, very likely unvaccinated, infected them and then they died.

The amount of stupid here would be shocking - if it didn't come from you.

363K of those deaths (over half) came before there were vaccines "shots"

Leave it to you to claim that all of those people died "because of unvaccinated people" before shots were available.

You REALLY don't know anything about large unions, do you? Also, the specific information from one Southwest pilot - that the sick-out could not be called a sick-out since that would violate the union contract and subject the employees to discipline - is 100% accurate.

The explanations for the thousands of canceled flights - "weather," unidentified "operations problems" - are bullshit.
It’s not the first time they had operational issues…

Completely lost on you is that unvaccinated people spreading the virus and killing people was the point.

What do you think the Covid situation would be like if everyone was like and refused vaccination?

Define “small amount” and “some protection”.

Where is vaccine defined as absolute immunization? Clinically.

Now this is actually intriguing. No real way of knowing for sure, would the virus have run it's course and died out? Would the variant strains be as prevalent?

We all look forward to your hypothesis, Dr. Floggy.

Hard to say, but I think there were less deaths before the shots.

You are correct. Also more Covid deaths under Sloppy Joe than Trump.

Huh. Went to CNN to check their "Covid Counter." Watched about 5 minutes of a Gilligan's Island re-run, understandably believing it to be CNN with the outlandish statements, idiocy and dumb ideas. Then realized the females on the show were attractive so obviously could not be CNN. Finally found CNN and looked for that "Covid Counter" and found it disappeared. Wonder why, wonder why ...

Ohhh ohhh I know! I know!

Despite the increases in some highly vaccinated states (VT, ME) and the decreases in some low vaccinated states (MS,AL), the low vaccinated states currently have 3X the cases, 8.5X the deaths.

So by your own admission, the vaccines only work sometimes. Funny how the people who claim to be on the side of science don't know how science works.

They should just call the vax Sex Panther. It works 60% of the time, all the time.

well, certainly not in the CDC defintion. And you knew this.

Social media is calling bluff on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for modifying its definition of the words “vaccine” and “vaccination” on its website.
Before the change, the definition for “vaccination” read, “the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.” Now, the word “immunity” has been switched to "protection.”

The term “vaccine” also got a makeover. The CDC’s definition changed from “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease” to the current “a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”

Some people have speculated that the unannounced changes were the CDC’s attempt to hide the fact COVID-19 vaccines are not 100% effective at preventing coronavirus infection. U.S. Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky said in a popular tweet the CDC has “been busy at the Ministry of Truth.”

Before the outbreak, the leading 'medical expert' in the country said exactly that. What changed?

LMAO, busted again. Claiming 700K deaths were all due to unvaxed people when over 50% of those deaths came before....the vaccines.

LMAO...yet you still spin. Epic. EPIC. ROFL.

Well, technically they were unvaxed.

shhhhhhhhh, been waiting for him to use THAT claim. The pin is already pulled on that grenade if he does.

Most definitely in some states like Florida that reached its all-time 7 day average high of 445 on 9/2//21. 2.46 times higher than its previous high of 181 set back on 8/16/20. Credit the unvaccinated and Gov. Deathsentence.

Sometimes like the vast majority of times.
