Here's the list of 17 players who will attend the draft. The NFL only invites players expected to go in the 1st round. Very interesting to see Milroe on the list.

So now Dart and Milroe are expected to be first rounders but Sanders didnt get an invite...

I wonder if neon Deon makes his son sit out a year if he falls to the second round...

I posted this in the mock draft thread, but the league reportedly wanted to cut down on the number of prospects this year over last year. Last year they had 13, they were hoping for 8-10 this year, and then go ahead and invite 17.

And for those that don't know how this works. The league has someone that specifically calls teams ahead of the draft and asks them who they plan on drafting. The teams will either give one solid name or a couple. This employee then compiles a list, compares it to the other teams, and can really get a sense of who is going to be drafted where. They then come up with a list of names that WILL be drafted in the first round based on this information.

For Dart and Milroe to be on this list, there must have been at least one team say that would take one of them at a certain spot no matter what. And for Sanders to not be on this list, is also very interesting, considering he was QB2 throughout this entire draft season.

I think the 2nd to last name on that list won’t make it past the 2nd pick of the 1srt round.

I also think nothing would surprise me with the STEELERS moving up enough to get Ward, using this years 1st / 3rd / next year’s 1st.

That said, Dart makes it to our 1st round pick.

Dart should make it to our 3rd round pick based on actual ability.

I doubt he makes it to our first round pick, based on this draft. You don't have too many players that would be top 10 picks in any draft regardless of the year. I don't even think you have ONE player that fits that bill. I think the draft is full of capable starters, some really high ceiling guys that still have a lot of work to do, but no one you look at and say "he's an all-pro waiting to happen".

Ward isn't polished by any means, Hunter doesn't have a position just yet. While he is a great athlete, as a WR he still has a lot of work to do with route running. As a DB, his technique can get sloppy. He's a jack of all trades, master of none. Adul Carter is still dealing with that stress fracture, that does leave a question mark on his future. It could heal and never be an issue, or it could be a reoccurring thing. Jeanty is electric, but he is a RB, and he will be going to a bad team. That's rarely a recipe for success.

For as over the top as the draft has become, you’d think they’d have a lot more players attending

Sometimes guys are invited, but don't attend.

Joe Thomas wanted to go fishing with his Dad IIRC.

More chances to see guys sitting and not being drafted where they thought. They don't want that. Surprised they are risking what they are this year.

I am not disagreeing with you but I would like to know what people the NFL deems trustworthy enough to know teams secret draft hopes. That league can't keep anything under wrap except as it pertains to the NE Patriots.

The desperation of QB need, will out weight the result of the place picked.

I’m not advocation to pick Dart with a 1`st round pick, I’m just saying he will be there at 1.21 for us to do so should they decide to.

Another miss at QB will stunt the team another 4 years and shackle hopefully the next HC.

100% agree, rogers doesn’t advance anything either. I see this season as a set back with ONLY one hope…….

Mason Rudolf progresses significantly under the Arthur Smith tutelage…………. As for QB, that’s all we got.

Now if by chance they draft a QB and he exceeds expectations……… then we will be making p[rogress.

I didn't know how it worked, but when I was researching the Aaron Rodgers draft slide I came across the story on how they decide who gets the invite. It is one person that does this, he doesn't tell anyone which teams is eyeing the prospect, just the prospects that will be drafted.

So even NFL execs don't know which teams are taking who

I still dont get the Pickett bashing. He did what he was supposed to in this offense. He barely threw INTs and had several 4th quarter comebacks which is not easy to do. His 4th Q passer rating was also much better. Pickett did not magically get better it was more the coaches deciding "oh we might need to try to score some points now." I do believe Pickett defied the coaches a few times such as the deep bomb to Pickens to win the Ravens game. Tomlin can sugar coat it all he wants, but there is no way you can tell me Canada was happy w/ that play based on his reaction. His ego was too big to even celebrate a huge play against our main rival. Pickett may turn out to stink, but the constant bashing of him from so called Steeler fans is unwarranted. No QB had a chance w/ the pee-wee offense of Canada / Tomlin.

I would also expect there was a memo sent out to the teams telling them that they best not be blowing smoke either.

I also think that teams have a pretty good idea of who the others are targeting. Having the players there also relieves the camouflage to a degree. Add ing the more players instead of reducing the number also makes for harder guessing amongst the teams.

Pray I wouldn’t be the player that had to sit through to the next day or day 3—— yoiiiiikkkkeeeesssss !!!

I'm hoping ward, shedeur, milroe and dart are gone before the steelers pick. I don't really want any of them and the more QBs taken means other good players dropping to the steelers.

Saints finding out Derek Carr may not be able to play this year probably takes another QB off the board. You'd think they'd like a SEC guy like Dart or Milroe to put butts in seats.
