2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

That guy who becomes like his mother on the progressive commercial looks like Bryan Rust lol

He's not Holtby. Definitely beatable. The shots on goal have not been the best of shots. He's had some luck as well

Thanks. Wonder if he has a consistent weakness like Holtby's glove side. Wonder if he had a broken hand.. :)
 


They'll get em next game. I think they still had a hangover from the Caps series.

He has a strong glove hand. Weak top shelf. He plays really low. If the Pens elevate the pucks then they get it.

Pens ought to know how the Caps feel. That said, the caps tried. Not sure what that **** the pens did tonight was.

No ****. Cullen's line was the only line that brought it. Pens can steam roll this team. Wake the **** up superstars. Oh well. Next

Been "lurking" and not posting tonight. Sooo, that didn't work (yes superstitious). Anyway, this year's Pens don't play well til they're in an uncomfortable position entirely of their own making. Started that a little early this series. So, yeah .. there's that. (about as positive as I can get after the sleepwalking effort I saw tonight).

For some reason they look like they played worse tonight than they did in the game 5 and 6 losses to the Caps?

And Matta looks like he is going to be an even bigger liability in this series. Damn he pisses me off at times.

And Crosby isn't right either.
 
Now the next game becomes very important. They still need to play a lot better defensively. Too many brain farts.

If that's the best Ottawa has, then I'd be worried if I was Ottawa. They suck. If the top 3 lines played some simple hockey, they'd light up the scoreboard. Pens will be alright. I think this series will tilt in the Pens favor

Positives:
-clearing the puck
-open neutral ice
-physicality of Ottawa is not on par with CBJ or Wash. Ottawa lost a couple players trying to rough up the Pens
-Speed - pretty evident, when the Pens WANT to, they outskated these guys.

Negatives:
-Being too cute entering the offensive zone again
-play simple the Pens will be a lock in the final. It's that noticeable how much ice Ottawa leaves open

Don't forget the one man show turnover machine Geno. Just play as a unit and you got this ****.
 
Crosby looked cautious again this game.

I'm gonna agree with JMM in that these guys are still off an emotional hangover from last series. Pens got this series
 
Sounded sort of emotionless. They had a few signs of life and thought they were going to maybe get it there at the start of OT. We should see at the start of game 2 if they want to keep going or if they are ready to play golf.

Looked emotionless. Sometimes as a fan you pick up on those cues.
I'm not even panicking about it. Every series is gonna be a challenge. Even then at that, Ottawa looks like....I don't want to say garbage. But not good.

If the guys find motivation again, easy ******* series.

Another "THOSE are the defending Stanley Cup Champions" performance. Only this time it just looked like they were flat out sleepwalking through the game.

So much that last point. The last two days, all I've heard is how Ottawa is so good defensively that they're gonna stymie the Pens. While Ottawa had a solid game defensively, Pittsburgh had plenty of opportunity to take advantage of open ice. Instead, they go for the extra ******* pass. I hate that assclown Milbury, but in the second intermission, that's all he talked about. Malkin, Kessel, Sheary, Rust, Cole all had prime opportunities that I vividly remember, and they opted to try to make the pretty play, and go tic-tac-toe. Like you said, simple hockey, and good things will come. One other thing I noticed is thag Anderson plays way out in front of that net. There's going to be opportunities for this team to capitalize. Anderson also had to have had a horseshoe stuck up his *** tonight. Three or Four posts, and that crazy bounce in the second period that he had just enough length on. Oh well, it's only the first one. We lost the first one at home to Tampa Bay last year too. Here's to hoping we rebound, and get a similar end result. I trust in Sully.
 
got up and still had to ask, how did they lose that one? Very boring, uninspired hockey. Stupid mistakes cost them two goals. They know what they have to do and can't take them for granted. So many posts, so many chances. The Sens stole one, call it a gift, OTT. I expect some *** kicking the next 4 games.
