2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Anderson isn't going to hold up like that every night. Easily could have been 4-0. That was one of the most dominant 1-0 wins you'll see. Great win!

yeah, I told you Kunitz just needed me calling for him to be benched to have a good game

That's kind of the way I felt from the second period on. Especially when they are out shooting the Sens big time and they go half a period without letting a them get a single shot on goal.... MAF's at the other end trying to stay warm and keep focused lol.

Pens were dominant for most of the game. I think ott first shot of the 3rd came with 6 mins left.
Malkin and kessel seemed to have a spat, but hopefully kessels goal will smooth that over.
I did not think the game was boring. Ott does what they have to do to keep it close. Can't blame them.
I do think ott looked more dangerous when they opened up so i am fine with them sitting back...
We cant keep losing guys though we will run out soon

Didn't they call 11 WBS guys onto the roster after their playoffs ended? I think we're covered. ;)

I heard in the postgame that the Pens had something like 36 players available, Sens had 22 - we got a bench!

Pens had 50 hits!

Anderson is full of ****. He isn't seeing half those shots. He is just lucky the Pens keep hitting him in the chest.

Ben looked worried in the stands, I could tell

Paul Steigerwald is moving to the front office in the Pens org. Steve Mears will be taking over as Play-by-Play on Root.

Today is a great day! Hail Jesus!

heard that some were saying the game was boring. I think the game was anything but boring. It was intense, grind-it-out hockey. Anyone expecting 5-4, 4-3 games are going to be disappointed. Loved how the Pens handled the trap and shut the Sens down. Hope we see the walking wounded back Game 3 or 4.

They don't have the stomach for playoff hockey.

sometimes you want all action, all the time when watching a movie. Other times, you may want an intense thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the credits are rolling. If you are entertained with the ending, that's all should matter.

He looks better in a Penguins uniform..haha. What a talented player. Fun to watch.

Talented, yes. But Phyllis is a *****, and that could plainly be seen last night. Did she throw 6 or 7 hissy fits on the bench in the first two periods?

Phyllis has ****** up two teams in her career so far.

It is great that the Pens have a #1 and #2 to minimize the prima donna bullshit from her. But if Ottawa had won last night, the dominant story of the game would have been her constant bitching about Shrek. It was nice to see that Kunitz was able to handle her, and even laugh in her face on the bench.
She and the Pens got lucky that the blocked shot dropped right on her stick.

I like destroying people! That's what I dig seeing most in the sports teams I follow. The pens do it a good many times a year. The Steelers not so much .

I do, as well, but the PO are a different animal. Very rarely do we see the Pens destroying teams this time of year. You have to play the team in front of you, no matter how painful their style is. They can dominate from time to time, which we are due for one of those games. A 5-1 win in Ottawa is welcomed.

Pittsburgh Penguins ✔ @penguins
Sullivan: "Hornqvist, Rust, and Schultz are all day-to-day with upper body injuries." Coach confirms they will all travel to Ottawa.

They swept Columbus like nothing. I'd call that a spanking. Yeah I've been watching hockey since Mario got drafted. Maybe not as many games as I'd like to see,but still a few. I managed to get to the civic arena for a few as well. Yeah these trap defensive teams are boring, but effective for sure. I do like great defense. I'm all in for a 5-1 pasting of the senators as well.

Whooweee.. that's some hate. Glad the Pens have him and I'm sorry for your loss.

A lot of Leaf fans wanted him back, last night. I guess it depends who you talk to. Phil is a Stanley Cup Champion. He contributed greatly to that Cup and many think he should have won Conn Smythe last year over Sid. That says something, no matter what he did in the past. It's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately league.

I heard Canadian fans favored their native son Sid to win over Ottawa....well, that's what I heard

The hit on Rust looked like a concussion to me. If you look at the whiplash of the head at impact, you can tell his brain slammed against his skull pretty hard there. I hope he can bounce back since he's still young.

Man that hit was brutal!
