More things I remember...
I noticed Daley was shrugging from the time he hit the ice in oregano warmups. He was hurt going into the game. Then when he got taken into the boards, that was it. Tough when a player wants to play, but their body won't allow it.
Hornquist is always smiling and joking. But he plays like a pissed off pit I'll. In perhaps is was cupping the puck and flicking it at the net. Smooth hand eye.
Crosby is more vocal this year then in years past. He really coaches up teammates and has seemed to take on a solid leadership role.
Malkin is odd..lie would be off by himself talking to himself. Extremely cerebral player. He's very hard on himself. But when he goes from a coast stride to a wide open, he gets up ice in a hurry. He's faster with the puck then most are without it.
Scott Wilson is well liked and works hard every shift.
Guentzel is the real deal. He's got great vision on the ice and finds open space really well. You can see he's focused and engaged in the play.
Think I mentioned this already. But Cullen went through 5 sticks before he found one he liked.meach stick had a small cross on the tape as well.
Kessel is one hotdog away from heartburn, but he brings it and doesn't seem like he gets tired as quickly as some of the other guys do.
Letang looked like he was sick with the flu, sweating nonstop and pale. Just didn't look like himself.
Sullivan is not afraid to get in people's face and give them a earful. He's got control over his team and make great adjustments.
Tocchet it still a hothead, lol
During prepare the equipment guys took a pyramid of pucks and had a little competition going. They would toss a puck across the ice, bounce it off the farside boards at an angle and try to hit the net. Sounds easier then it looks.
I asked them why...and I was told that they also use that to check the board and see how much rebound they have or to find any dead spots. Makes sense.
This team is special. They have 3 gears. The come out and play and go through the motions. Then they have ok we are gonna play and try. And then they have the we are going to dominate and turn it on and show everyone we are just toying with them. When the buttons are pushed, this team can completely change the dynamic of any game and dictate the style of play.
At one point Dana Heinze did a skate blade change on Fehr Nd it took him about 45 seconds. Their staff is good, very good.
