2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

That turnover by Cullen that led to the goal was inexcusable. In the event this team ever gets everyone healthy again, he needs to be a scratch. Guy is becoming more of a liability with each game.

He's looking like the fall 2015 version of himself. He hasn't been strong on the puck like he was last year, he was like Sid and Sheary where he was able to posses the puck and keep offensive play alive. Eh but he was playing on 3rd line, so maybe not in sync with his wingers. I've been frustrated with Letang of late. When he is on, he is amazing, but damn! It just seems from the two players I notice. Letang and Hagelin have had some mental errors lately. Hagelin did look good on Malkin's line though

Actually pleased with this transaction. Big bodied defensemen, who can stay back and help Murray in case of opposing breakaways. Trevor Daley underwent knee surgery btw. So he's out 6 weeks

Not really thrilled about this one. I mean it isn't an awful move. But the guy is 35. I will say he still skates pretty well for his age. The salary retention by Carolina is the best part. He is a Rutherford guy, so no real surprise.

The Pens need a couple defensemen who can stay back and help the goalie on breakaways. I thik he'll fit that role. I'm confident that Rutherford knows this guys game to fit the Pens defensive woes. Not an awful move, not a splash big name signing. Just a content need

Yeah, this is a good "rent a vet" move. It will fill some injury gaps for a while.

I went to the game on tuesday. Hainsey looks a lot better live then he gets credit for. He blocks a ton of shots and wins puck battles in the corners. Never played in the playoffs but he will probably be motivated.

I mentioned to my buddy that daley looked hurt in pregame warm ups. You could see the look on his face.
Sullivan was yelling at Malkin to keep his cool. Crosby was talking to Wilson a lot and coaching him up. Kessel is a beast. Cullen went through 5 sticks before he found one he liked. Oleksy got pummeled a few times and just bounced back up like a kid on a playground. Guentzel isgonna be good. Really good. He finds open space easy and has a knack for making plays. Hornquist is always smiling. IMG_3166.jpg

I called the 2 points juss sayin. Lol

Totally off topic. Chick in the back is kinda cute. Phone is acting up again. Blame too much stuff connected to the wi-fi so I'll be back

How'd you get that pic.? If that zooms out you'll probably see me stuffing my face on TV lol

Here's one of Sullivan yelling at Malkin

Lol. Just took a pic of my tv. I was meaning to keep the guys here updated that there was an empty net. But they called a timeout. Being that a lot of us here at SN like beautiful women. I decided to give the lady a shout out. Good seats btw dude. Thats awesome

The blonde sitting behind me and 2 seats to my left were really hot too. The one behind me took her little boy to his first Pens game. When Kessel tossed a puck over the glass I was a nice guy and handed it to the little boy. He acted like I just gave him a new Ferarri.

It's amazing how much these guys talk on the bench. I knew Crosqby wasn't that big, but he is small compared to a lot of the guys. Malkin is a monster, but he's in his own world, skating around by himself half the time, talking to himself. He is really hard on himself and plays with tons of emotion.

I played for 28 years, actually just joined another beer league again. I'm bigger the. Most of these guys, it's kinda funny.

I used to bag on Ian Cole, but he's turned a page and turned into a nice player. The dude is built too..

I'll try to post up more pictures later.

If anyone has any questions about the players or coaches etc ask away.

I get to a few games a year and have pretty good seats.

Oh shoot! Ya might have been on tv. There was a group of fans with a couple blondies I assume. The blonde sitting to your right. From my tv would've been my left. She was hot. Lol. Damn.

And yeah. I think a lot of fans would be surprised how the tv makes the players look bigger. I played three years in high school. That's awesome you're jn a beer league. Keep it up.

As for Ian Cole. I think he's stepped up his game this season. There are stories about him outlifitng guys on the notre dame football team. Is he that big?

And keep us updated dude. Post what you can

If you could post the pics up on a third party site so us poor folk who don't give scratch to this board could click them, that would be cool.

Cole is stout! His neck huge! Wouldn't surprise me if he's a gym rat.

Of the Carolina game? Idk. Try looking at highlights? If I would've known what I know now I would've recorded the game on my dvr. That's still pretty cool dude

Let me look up the pens highlights and see if I see anything. I'll be back in a bit

More things I remember...

I noticed Daley was shrugging from the time he hit the ice in oregano warmups. He was hurt going into the game. Then when he got taken into the boards, that was it. Tough when a player wants to play, but their body won't allow it.

Hornquist is always smiling and joking. But he plays like a pissed off pit I'll. In perhaps is was cupping the puck and flicking it at the net. Smooth hand eye.

Crosby is more vocal this year then in years past. He really coaches up teammates and has seemed to take on a solid leadership role.

Malkin is odd..lie would be off by himself talking to himself. Extremely cerebral player. He's very hard on himself. But when he goes from a coast stride to a wide open, he gets up ice in a hurry. He's faster with the puck then most are without it.

Scott Wilson is well liked and works hard every shift.

Guentzel is the real deal. He's got great vision on the ice and finds open space really well. You can see he's focused and engaged in the play.

Think I mentioned this already. But Cullen went through 5 sticks before he found one he liked.meach stick had a small cross on the tape as well.

Kessel is one hotdog away from heartburn, but he brings it and doesn't seem like he gets tired as quickly as some of the other guys do.

Letang looked like he was sick with the flu, sweating nonstop and pale. Just didn't look like himself.

Sullivan is not afraid to get in people's face and give them a earful. He's got control over his team and make great adjustments.

Tocchet it still a hothead, lol

During prepare the equipment guys took a pyramid of pucks and had a little competition going. They would toss a puck across the ice, bounce it off the farside boards at an angle and try to hit the net. Sounds easier then it looks.

I asked them why...and I was told that they also use that to check the board and see how much rebound they have or to find any dead spots. Makes sense.

This team is special. They have 3 gears. The come out and play and go through the motions. Then they have ok we are gonna play and try. And then they have the we are going to dominate and turn it on and show everyone we are just toying with them. When the buttons are pushed, this team can completely change the dynamic of any game and dictate the style of play.

At one point Dana Heinze did a skate blade change on Fehr Nd it took him about 45 seconds. Their staff is good, very good.

Gonna be exciting. Holy **** the intro's to this. Sports boner!

Rink looks good. It's weird playing outside actually... everything you're used to is changed. Buts it's fun for the players I'm sure.

Hainsey looks good so far.
