It's been one of those nights. The Pens have been racking up penalties as if Oprah was giving them away. Hornqvist took a cheap shot that went uncalled too. Oh well

Really sloppy with the puck last night. As much as I love Malkin he pisses me off sometimes with his play.

Pretty bad when you opponent is out shooting you on YOUR power plays at one point lol.

It was a bad game all around. But yeah Malkin was the one making the most mistakes. Too many guys got sent to the box last night. Malkin twice, Sheary, Letang, Crosby with a slash. Wilson got away with a chop on Hornqvist, still bothered by that. Pens will re group
 
Daley has not returned to the bench. ****. Oh and another PP for the Isles. I foresee an ugly stretch of hockey for a bit. Pens will win when it matters
 
Daley came back and scored the tying goal. Nice! Letang with the overtime winner. Nice to see Wilson back in the lineup

I think the Pens can tinker around a bit. Buffalo hasn't been too impressive. Pens have been dinged up these past two games though. So should make for an interesting game

Home and Home with the Rangers up next. Could be a couple of lopsided losses. The Rangers can fly and they can actually finish. Could be UGLY. Hoping for a split.

The rags constructed their team to match the Pens speed. This home/home series can go either way. Lundqvist isn't as dominant as he used to be. If the Pens can keep the puck in their control, especially in the offensive zone against the boards to wear the rags out. Guys like Nash get tired out. And honestly just shoot the puck. Queen Henry has been getting beat top shelf glove hand lately. Pepper the guy with shots and watch him flip the net again
 
Rags have gotten faster. Pens need to keep up the aggressive forechecking. The rags were getting beat from that. Congrats to Guentzel. Kid needs to stay up in Pitt
 
Rags hit the empty netter to win 5-2. Good aggressive forecheck by the Pens which generated offenisve pressure. Rags goalie was just a wall today. Rags are definately faster but lack puck possession. Sid's line was having their way against the boards. Eh still early to complain. Guentzel can fly, the kid is versatile and can play wing or center. So should be an interesting shake up.

*another observation and the guys from root even stated. The Pens are missing Hornqvist and Kunitz grit in front of the goalie. I think Horny could've banked in a couple goals tonight
 
This Rangers team is different. They are scoring goals in bunches and they have the speed to play our game. I was afraid of something like this. Gonna be harder to beat them in MSG. Gotta get that one for sure.

They are fast no doubt. They wanted the speed to keep up with the Pens and Bolts going into the offseason. What I noticed though is when the aggressive forechecking by the Pens made the rangers uncomfortable. If you go back in the 2nd period with about 3:20 left. Sid's line was controlling the puck and had some beautiful chances to score. No bias at all. Pens can take them
 
No doubt. But they didn't give up 4 goals by accident. You can get all the chances in the world, but you have to FINISH. Right now, that is the difference between the Rangers and the Pens. The Rangers FINISH. The Pens get a bunch of great chances. The Pens are more apt to shoot high or wide. Happens to them A LOT.
 
The Pens just possessed the puck for 1:34 and banked in a shot to make the game 5-1. Nice!
