Sprong is up and putting it on net. Defense hasn't been healthy in 6 weeks. 4th line finally showed some swagger. I still think JR will make some changes. Hopefully productive one's.

Getting into the NHL payoffs isn't that difficult of a task. It's winning when you get in. I don't see the Pen's going deep but that won't stop me from rooting for them. Like I have
mentioned. I still think it's time to gather prospects and draft picks.

I think this team has a lot of room to develop from here until April.
I'd like a 12th straight post season appearance. Keep the streak alive.
If it's an early exit, I can deal with it.

I'm really not expecting a three peat, for lack of offseason and proper training time etc.
If this Pens group has that time frame to recover and get their off ice conditioning etc down. I think they'll be amazing.

No effort, zilch, nada.

They need an offseason for sure. They are disinterested no doubt.

Frustrating as a fan.

It has been a fun ride these past two seasons.

Yeah. 4th line was minimal.
No consistent lines with the team.

Sullian is just trying anything it seems.
I still think Recchi on the coaching staff is a weakness.

Eh we'll watch the trash season. The Pens have been through worse times as a franchise.

I'm waiting for that also. What I hope is he sells off the fringe to gain picks and prospects.

Letang sucks at the moment and has hurt his value. Maybe sit on him until next year ? Maybe his value goes up or his game improves ? Cole and Horny need contacts and both likely with significant increases. Trade or keep ? Whatever he does... Keep the #1 pick.

I don't see a trade that is going to right this ship. With Las Vegas added to the league there are many fewer options that would have likely been available,

I'd sit Sid soon. Seriously, he may be playing hard, but looks like he is just skating around. Actually, I'd bring a few more guys up from WBS and sit guys like Kessel and Malkin, too. Each player can watch a game or two from the press box to see the team from another perspective. They are having too many of these games where they are totally outplayed and it's not even close. They can't play the speed game. Teams have caught up to them and have surpassed them at their own game.

I'm really at a loss right now. GMJR has to do something soon. One of the worst showings of the year, again. The Anaheim game a few weeks back looked eerie similar. SMH

Kessel is still getting decent results. I see him as more active this year. He's carrying the puck more than I can remember.

Sid and Malkin are another story. They have the feel of the same pouting that got Sully here. I think Spike mentioned the Olympics and he may well be right. You hear "well, they played a lot of hockey the past two years". I didn't buy that and listening to post game Phil Bourgue sure doesn't either. I think he is fairly objective. Sit them, trade one like the Gretzky deal years ago ?

Outside of Pedan WBS is pretty empty. You trade all you first rounders and this is what you get. We won back to back and that is an accomplishment. Even more so in this salary cap era.

Our trade bait is Hornqvist, Cole, Hagelin and Letang. This is a tough year to trade. Las Vegas took a huge chunk out of the potential talent pool. Not to mention they are winning. I am all for a trade, a big one, a shake up but the return has to be there.

Whatever JR does, he better hold onto the first round pick. I think he will move Hagelin and Cole. That would save some cap $. Horny is looking a 6 million next year and I think he will go too. We are cap strapped.

After all that gibberish. There is still a lot of the season left. It ain't over until it's over. The fat lady isn't singing but she is warming up.

I don't think it's the olympics. If so, then maybe it's time to break up the group.

Yea, I know the WBS cupboard is kinda bare, but Aston-Reese can come up for a week, you already have Sprong and Simon up. A few more fresh legs can't hurt to maybe get Malkin and Sid's mojo back. I'd do it now before they go into a stretch run where their backs are really up against a wall.

I wouldn't be so quick to trade Cole. He's a solid dman and we need all the help we can get. Injuries are killing this team and the effort isn't there every night. On the other hand, if you want significant pieces back to bolster your team, it may be time to dangle someone like Letang, but like I said, we need dmen. I don't know what Hags or Sheary will bring back. Teams/GMs know GMJR will be desperate to make some moves. We'll see where this team is in the upcoming weeks. Should be telling.

The biggest problem with trades is that aside from Crosby, Malkin and Kessel, they have no players of any value. Cole and Hagelin wouldn't get you a 4th round pick much less a player that can contribute. They are going to have to move a piece if they want anything back. They only have $350K in cap space to boot. The Pens just may be ****** this year and beyond without unhitching the anchor that is Letang or moving Crosby Malkin or Kessel.

That's pretty much it. It would be like the Steelers winning the next two super bowls with a good shot at a 3rd and guys like AB just half *** run routes, drop balls all the time, Ben just throws it all over ,Bell doesn't even try to run hard. The defense gives up 30 points a game. They all just go home and polish those rings fat&happy.


At least go down fighting in the playoffs. Or give 100%
