2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

he got crosschecked in the back but he tried to embellish it and got hurt by hitting the boards at a bad angle. The Canes shut down the caps tonight. That building was rocking.

Also Rutherford is obviously senile and should be "retired" ASAP if he thinks this was a great defensive group.

I watched the Craps lose. Was a good game by the Canes. The Craps had a few chances, but never really a threat to tie it. If they can win game 5, I like the Canes chances. And poor Oshie, they do that crap too and it's a good, tough hit. I don't shed a tear for those cheap *** pricks. Ovie got his Cup, he can hit the golf courses back in Russia in a week.

Golf? He's a hit man for the Russian mafia during the off-season. Needs to get back to business breaking knee caps when he's done playing on the ice with his friends.

Man, this place will be so much less with no Pens puck to discuss.

Anyone catch the Caps/Canes game? I didn't but see where the Canes won 2-1and our old buddy Oshie got hurt towards the end of the game. We've seen that show before. Probably got bumped then threw out his back embellishing the bump.

I saw Ovechkin on tv complaining about the hit. I thought that was rich coming from him, considering all the knee on knee **** he has done in the past and the way he jumps into a lot of his hits. Plus they employ Tom Wilson. If this ain’t some kind of karma, I don’t know what is.

UB, you mentioned Malkins no trade clause but what if he wants to leave. He has looked totally disinterested for over a year now. I really wonder if he's tired of playing second fiddle. He has the size and strength of Ovechkin but plays like a guy half his size. It's like his talents are just going to waste in front of our eyes.

I wish I could figure Malkin out. One game you get the generational talent is capable of and the next you get a lack of discipline. Some here have mentioned "un-coachable" I wonder if that plays a large part.

He can ask for a trade if he wants one. He was asked a few years ago and he wanted to be here. He and Sid are best of friends. I've seen pictures post with their families together. I believe he will retire as a Penguin.

The boy who cried wolf finally had karma catch up with him. Oshie has used that lower back cross check many times. I hate to see injuries but his style of playing on the edge finally caught up with him.

Just for the heck of it. With the Pens drafting around 18. Here is my choice. The kid needs to fill out some but a year at that age can make a big difference. He may have to disappear and hide for a while to get a Visa but we have done that before. He plays both wings equally well. Bet you can't guess where I would slot him ?

A lot can happen with world rankings with World's and summer leagues but there is a method to my madness.

If you listen to Sullivan and Rutherford yesterday they basically acknowledged what we all have seen the last couple years and been complaining about.

Some of these guys don't want to be coached and play the "right way", don't put forth 100 percent effort, have lost the passion to win, and are making a metric $hit ton of money.

Will be interesting to see how Rutherford handles this in the off season.

The mantra has gone from "just play" to "play the right way", Sully seems to have reached the same pinnacle Blysma had. Says all the right things at media level but a poor translation to the team. The other piece of this is GMJR and Sully don;t seem to have the same vision. This will be the most interesting off season in 15 years.

I agree that the players need to buy into the system but Rutherford has to give Sully the players as well. No system can work when the players can't physically work the system. The system that won cups had defenders that could get the puck out of the zone quickly and could skate (like Daley and Hainsey). There is clearly a disconnect between Rutherford and Sully. It maybe like a Cowher and Donahoe situation but on a smaller scale. Rutherford's job should be to find players that fit Sully's system. Don't bring in players who he won't even play.

As mentioned in the article I linked earlier, Rutherford lost his way with how this team should've been built when he traded for Reaves. It's been downhill ever since.

Seems being at the top for so long they feel content.
Crosby has accomplished nearly every championship at the pro level.
Stanley cups, worlds and olympic golds.

These guys need a fire in their belly again.

******* caps played emotionally inspired yesterday.
Hate to say it, but **** they looked good.

St. Louis eliminates Winnipeg too.
That series was fun to watch.

The other day I was thinking a Canes/Islanders Jackets/Leafs in the east was possible and would be pretty cool but I think it will be pretty hard for Canes to best the Caps if the Caps play up to their potential. The Leafs stand a better chance of beating Boston but we all know how the history is for that series.

In the west I think the Stars beat the Preds and the Knights finish off the Sharks. The Stars/Blues and Knights/Avalanche series will be good too. Really like Colorado.

I don't get how you give Horny that big contract then just play him on the 3rd line all the time, while Simon is given a ton of time with Sid. Now it's no secret Sid doesn't like playing with Horny, but they play well together and you cant let Sid always control who is on his line.

They should have a sit down with Sid and let him know that Horny is playing with him PERIOD. Sid can't be bigger than the team. You'd think with Sid controlling the puck on the boards that he'd love a grinder in front of the net. Something has to change.

I like Vegas/Colorado/STL in the west.

Canes are scrappy. I think even if they lose, they have worn down the caps.

Yep...enjoying this game. Canes up 4-2. Shows you don't need a bench full of huge names to make a good run.

Caps got screwed but **** them.
Ovie showed his true colors today too. Piece of trash.

Their crowd was definitely engaged and having a blast. Fun times on Tobacco Road

Hopefully they beat the caps on Wednesday.
Series can go either way. I do think the canes are in the caps head though

They are definitely working hard to contain Ovedouchebag. He's an A-1 schmuck. I don't understand why NBC Sports and the NHL has such an obvious love affair with the *******. I wouldn't want him to be a role model for my kids.

I call them the Washington Dickbags. Go canes. One more. Get it done!
