2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Loved this. They had better play like that on Tuesday. We're in town to see them

Man had to go to bed early or I'd have watched. Big smile seeing 5-0. I pretty much figured they would absolutely not lose. Onward&upward...next

What a road trip ! Start with a shutout and end with a shutout !

Sprong looked better last night. He moved the puck decently, put some shots on goal and The Malkin set up was a damn nice play.

Olesiak is playing well on both ends. Ruh played like a guy that doesn't want to sit. Really liked his game and I have never thought that before.

For October, they are playing well above what I expected. Let's stay injury free !

I think it's great that a few more have joined this thread. No matter how this season turns out. These have been special times for Pittsburgh hockey. It won't last forever and I am certainly enjoying it now.

If you're not watching the game and want to. We can help.

Tickets are crazy cheap again. We're going. Need to take advantage of the decent weather while it lasts. It gets a bit much making the drive when the snow starts.

Letang left practice early today. I wouldn't be surprised if they held him and Brassard out until the Craps on Wednesday.

Letang was missed tonight.
I also thought the Pens got mugged a lot rushing through the neutral zone.

Empty net on a PP with our firepower should've produced some goals

Was there in person with Mrs. Fan. Very odd hockey. They got every bounce. We fought a brick wall in net. Murray stank. Rust and Phil were missing fundamentals at times. Sloppy sticks a lot.

I wanted better.

I didn't catch the much of the game, but it doesn't surprise me that they had a bad game back from the road trip. That and the missing key players certainly didn't help. I expect a better outcome tomorrow in Long Island.

My son said that I am not allowed to go to Pens games anymore

I still can't get over last evening. At one point the shots were 22-6, in our favor and they had 3 goals. Not all of this was on Murray but enough that he needed pulled. We missed Letang ! After last season I never thought I would say that. Lot's of things were wrong but the effort was there. As long as they make the effort, I won't complain much. Several times I thought the tide was turning but it wasn't to be. Sometimes you get beat.

The ceremony pregame was touching in remembrance of the recent tragedy. Seeing the names on the scoreboard and the 11 seconds of silence added pulled at a lot of hearts. The Pens caught a ton of social media flak for requesting donations and taking a position, if you will. There were quite a few empty seats, possibly as a result. I support the Pens Foundation and I will leave it at that. Yes, we donated.

I posted above about holding Letang and Brassard out until the Craps. I'm an idiot. I was looking at tickets in Washington at the time and my small brain took over. Hopefully both are back for the game tomorrow.

Wish I'd thought to PM you. We could have shaken hands and had a beer.

Simon Says GOAAALLLL.
Pens up 1-0

Simon needs to stay on Sid's line. He can be good.
Other than an almost costly turnover, he's doing ok.

Murray seems much more focused tonight.

Seems like the inverse of Tuesday night's game. Pens got a fortunate goal with not many quality shots and the Islanders have seemingly played a majority of the game in our end and they are clanging shots off the posts.

Murray looks ok. That high shot he blocked awhile ago seemed to throw him off I thought. Not too long after NYI got a puck behind him, luckily it hit the post.

But the guys were on the ice for awhile too

What a pisser

Not bad so far 1-1. Hope they can crank it up in the 3rd

Malkin ties it at 2

Greiss shut down our superstars in OT. One of the few times I've seen Sid stonewalled on a break away.

And Kessel with amazing shots on goal.
To a shootout we go

Isles win in a shootout 3-2.
Greiss, former Pen.
Both goalies played lights out
