4-0 pens almost half gone in the 3rd. Dumoulin with the 4th goal.

Another shutout for Casey DeSmith.

Was able to catch bits and pieces.
Going back to the Caps game, no major changes need to be made just yet.


The talent is there.
 
A 39 save shutout is no easy task. DeSmith earned it tonight. Like I've said ride him as long as it lasts.

Olesiak as a healthy scratch was surprising but Sully's decision looked good. Riikola hit the post twice on the same shift in the first period. Defense is still lacking. The Pens were out shot tonight.

Sid was on the ice for all 4 goals. There has got to be some production from somewhere else. Nice to see Simon and Rust have strong games,

The Pens pregame Veterans Tribute was awesome. Also the smaller tributes between periods and on breaks. You have to love the class the organization shows.
 
DeSmith has earned a right to start more games. Something isn't right with Murray.

As Ben stated, there has to be scoring from another line. Sid can't do it all by himself every night.
 
Tuesday against NJ is going to be a telling game. GMJR is crying wolf again. Shake Up/Break up mode. Sprong is heavily in the rumor mill. Might as well dump him since Sully really hasn't given him much of chance. Seems Sully always has one capable guy in the doghouse.

Lots of other trade options available. GMJR's recent blunders have me worried. I feel a Sprong and our #1 pick trade coming.

Damn, following the Pen's is fun !
 
Get rid of Maatta. I'd rather have Oleksiak and Rikkola on the ice.
 
I wouldn't doubt that Brassard could be on the block, as well. He really hasn't fit here since day 1. Injuries and his game is not complimentary to Sully's system. He was a prize piece to trade for, but has been ho-hum ever since.

Sprong has to be on that short list.
 
Yeah Brassard is not clicking with the system at all.
Perhaps a Brassard, Sprong, Maatta package can land us something
 
Maata is still worth keeping

Maata's not the most fluent skater and I think that helps get him a bad rap. Also seems like they rotate him away from Sid's line and that hurts his numbers. I think he is a better than average. I'd move him for the right deal,,,, if we had an equal replacement.

Pens picked it up as the period went on.
2nd powerplay opportunity was ok. Glad they waited for opportunity to shoot than constantly passing
 
He did. As for the GHHT, he needs an assist to get one.
 
At&t pitt was showing the missed chances in the 2nd.
Cullen was so close.

Same as Rust on the shorty
 
Cullens goal was denied by the hockey gods only
 
NJ fans are salty cause their boy pushed Sid into Kinkaid
