I got up at 3 so I could get my gym time in and be back in time for the game that came on at 5:30AM. Pretty good game. I hope Oleksiak is ok, he got absolutely beaten. Murray was pretty good for the most part, but is still leaky as evidenced by Petterson having the save of the night. But a win is a win, and the way the Pens have been going, they need all the wins they can get.
I'll take the two points in WASH, any day, any time. I watched most of it, but listened to it on the radio, as well. I liked the intensity they showed and didn't back down. Tanger was mixing it up with Ovie and even Sid was giving it back to him. I liked the fight in the them. As frustrating as this team is, they go into DC and pull it out to stop their five-game winning streak. I'd like to see another W against a good Wild team tonight. Glad to see MM in the net. He needs to get hot and regain the #1 position. That is the only was the Pens have a chance.
I do think the Pens need some type of enforcer to stand up to the likes of Wilson. I don't want a head hunting goon but someone who can play and basically torment the opposing #1 guy (like the mad Russian). Then be called on to take someone like Wilson out of the game if need be.
Reaves and Cole.
Bothered by it too.
I remember just before Cole got traded, he got in a fight and was throwing some bricks for hands.
I don't get what management see's. Rutherford will tell the media the Pens need this and this but goes and gets a player the opposite of what he says
Hopefully a confidence booster.
Murray was leaky for sure. Thank the heavens for Pettersen and I guess God was a Pens fan last night, cause we got some lucky bounces when Murray got beat.
.....but....Murray did stare down and stop some quality chances.
It's great to see the emotions when they play a rival. Holds out hope that there is still a fire in the team.

Reading some game wrap up from last night. When Olesiak came back into the locker room the rest of the team had just come off the ice. They gave him a standing ovation. Well deserved since he did the right thing. Damn shame about the out come. I have a feeling that we will see him and Wilson go again.
You guys talking about Reaves are making me nuts ! Letting him go was a stupid Sully ego move. Just like Cole. I'm getting tired of hearing Sully's "Play the game the right way" CRAP. The right way was when the Pens were the fastest team in the league. Their not anymore. You have to compensate by being physical and disruptive. Both Cole and Reaves can play hockey. Just think the impact they would have on the ice last night.

Great to see wins in back to back games. The Wild looked like the team that just battled the Caps.

another solid win! Rust is on fire! DeSmith was good, real good. Hoping this is a start to great things to come. Horny is back, Petterson looks solid and now if we can get Schultz back, maybe they can keep climbing in the standings.
Flood gates still open for Rust! And I honestly don't know how Letang does what he does night after night. All we need here down the Stretch is Kessel and Malking to get their ***** moving. Geno has been a little better of late but dammit Kessel pisses me off at times.
Yea, I'm still not sure what's up with those two and Brassard? He may go down of one of the biggest busts/worst trades for this team. He is a ghost. At least, I see Malkin trying, even though his results are sporadic, he's working to get through his funk. Brassard wants traded and the Pens are not thrilled with his lack of production. Give me Cole or Reeves back, PLEASE!

Brassard was a good hockey player in NY. He wasn't that great in Ottawa and now he's disappointing. Everyone blamed his role and the system in Ottawa. I think we're out of excuses here. His cap hit is only 3M and he is barely living up to that value. Thank Vegas retained 40%. Sad part is we lost Cole and Reaves (Sully ego).
Whatever Rust is eating and drinking should be force fed to Malkin and Kessel. Letang is a phenomenal athlete. He always will be high risk/reward but so far this year I think he needs to be in the Norris discussion.
I'll give Malkin a pass. Seems he's picking up his game.
He's definitely lost his intensity though.
Kessel is Kessel. His laziness was to be expected. He's a goal scorer. He's been pretty clutch in the playoffs when needed.
I've actually been surprised with his recent back checking. Not too often you see Phil playing some defense.
I'm ready to move on from Brassard. He shows flashes of skill and has been physical lately. But still not lighting the lamp as he should.

Agreed, Kessel's passes have been horrible as of late.
