Malkin is pressing and his confidence is shot., Yet he still putters along at a point a game pace. Your going to laugh but he hasn't been right since he was left off the NHL Top 100 list. He has only gone downward since Hagelin was traded. His +/- is worse this year than his entire career put together. I have no doubt he will regain form but it needs to be soon.

I complained about Sully earlier in the year and here we are. I still have faith but it's dimming., The desire to step away from physical players baffles me. Cole, Reaves and now Oleksiak all had roles. The Pens aren't the quickest team in the league any longer. They are not hard to play against. If you can't use speed to advantage. then you need to be disruptive.

I agree with this. The pens aren't a speed team and aren't a physical team. They are a talented team that needs to grind it out to win. Back when they were good a month or so ago they were limiting teams to 1-2 goals and back checking. Now they look disinterested like they can turn it on and off any time they want.

Also what is the record for short handed goals allowed? They must be getting close.

Looked it up because you made me curious. 22 is the most short handed goals allowed. The Pens 84-85 hold that record tied with 3 other teams. I'll have a nervous breakdown if that happens.

They are a little behind right now but I think they can get the record if they keep playing like they did last night.
 
Great news ! The Jackson injury from last night isn't as bad as it looks. He practiced today and will be ready for tomorrow night !

I'm afraid that the current Pens team is like the Steelers. A mediocre team that may/may not make the PO. They could do some damage in the post-season, but may not deserve to be there.
 
Sullivan's dislike for physical players is making me lose faith in him.

I've always been a fan of his just play approach but teams have had success against the Pens playing physical.
I also hate the fact that we tend to not get the best out of our roster.

Cole was always solid.
Gallant knows how to use Reaves as a player not just enforcer.
Sprong seems to have a resurgence in his play.

I like Sullivan but he's too damn stubborn
 
Many have been calling for Teddy Blueger. He's been called up and should be at the skate this morning. I like his energy and he has had a good season at WBS. I hope he gets an honest chance to play.

Now lets see if he plays. He was called up for a few weeks last year.
Sullivan needs to start making some changes.

My thoughts.... Unlike Sprong, I think playing Blueger is low risk. He won't hurt defensively.
He does play with energy and has a 200 foot game.

Some people are touting him as a difference maker. I don't see that. What I see is a contributor that may score some in streaks. He is a smart player with good hands. We need to see him at the NHL level. I would be nice to see exactly what we have before Brassard gets moved,
 
which team shows up tonight against the Bolts? National TV against the best team in the East. I'm hoping and praying they get up for the game. Another spanking will hurt.
 
This evening will be a real evaluation of them. I'll get to see this one,so I hope it's a good one. I have no idea what to expect other than winning!

Opposing team....ok,we need to score. Go commit a penalty so we can score on the Pens powerplay.
 
If they don't man up tonight this could get ugly quick. I've seen the Bolts play and they are nasty good.
 
Blueger is listed as 4th line center tonight.


Pens need to be firing on all cylinders tonight. Murray needs to be Murray !

We need to keep possession of the puck and keep the game at our pace.
Tampa's speed is already killing us in the short amount of time they've had the puck.
They haven't taken shots they had opportunities at thank God
 
Great goal... sloppy play by the Bolts. Damn I wish they could play this great against the bottom of the league.

I don't know who that woman is speaking but please just stop. It's cringe worthy. I assume she is some kind of woman hockey player?
