2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

This was far and away the best Letang has played since the injury. And not just the two goals, but his overall game looked LIGHTYEARS better than last season. Maatta still freaking sucks though, he's got to go. I wouldn't be surprised if Brassard and/or Kessel are used for trade bait later in the season. Preferably to get some more defensive help.
I also think Murray will be okay. It was game one, and both goalies were off their game.

Letang was out of position and made some ****** decisions in the first period. I though he was going to stay in the rut that he laid in all of last year. At the start of the 2nd the light came on. From the radio post game interview. He has put a ton of pressure on himself. He played the first like he was trying too hard. I'm hoping this starts his redemption tour.

Maatta, oh brother..... He is too slow to be an offensive D. He over commits to the puck and isn't quick enough to recover. Paired with a better skater he is serviceable,

Riicola needs ice time. I have to believe we will see him again tomorrow. If he is for real I can see the package move with Maatta. My only concern is below that on the depth chart there is nothing,

I got pissed because they were still doing the behind the back passes with a ******* 2 goal lead. You shut that **** down and play defense with 6 minutes left and a 2 goal lead.

Murray looks like Ruth Ginsberg in the net.

Congrats Letang for passing Paul Coffey as all-time D scorer. #441

Getting spanked by the Canadians so far 4-1. That's 10 goals in the net so far in the first two games. Not pretty.

Pens look very disinterested tonight.
I switched over to my UGA dawgs only to come back to see Hagelin in the box

Need more offensive zone time.
Everything is quick rush and dump ins tonight. New boards are benefiting Montreal tonight. Really aggressive forecheck

Like Oshie and Panarin. Drouin seems to give the Pens fits

Nice set up but bad whiff by Hornqvist

5-1. I think that's game.
Montreal always looks like world beaters early in the season anywho.

Re-focus next one.
I want Rikkola!

Murray is stinking the place up. He was at .714 at one point tonight.

What's up with Sully keeping him in? Two games, 11 goals, 29 shots. That's a .826 avg.

Idk. Sullivan has been pretty uncharacteristic too.
Usually when things are off he'll jumble lines to try adjustments. Nothing at all tonight

It's so early in the season to really panic.
Sheahan's line though has not looked good

Its very early but the concerning thing is we have same problems as last year. shaky goaltending and bad defense. we did not really do anything to address the D and Murray hasn't been the same since mid last season

Murray is starting to make me wonder if they gave Vegas the wrong guy. I hope he and the defense get their **** together a little faster this year than last.

I want to see DeSmith in the next game. They need a spark or some good goal tending. I'm not blaming MM on giving up 11 goals in two games alone, but something needs tightened up. They were totally out played last night by a bunch of nobodies. The shorthanded goal showed me everything I needed to see.

This team is s-l-o-w. I mean, they had a head start getting to pucks and still got beat. Same sloppy puck handling and passing, and can't clear the zone. Murray has been bad but holy **** the shots the defense is giving other teams. No goalie is going to stand up to that for long.

This looks just like last years team... the one AFTER the horrible trade. No defense, horrible goal tending, bad passing, and they look like they are skating in concrete.

Went to the game again last night. I guess there was a reason I found 234 Row A for $30. Win or lose we always have a good time.

I thought Riikola would play but I guess they will slow walk him. I could go on and on about the poor goaltending, bad transitions or overall lack of effort but I'll wait a few games. A after all it was better than Game 2 against Chicago last year.

I'm getting used to the Pens being difficult to watch in the early season. Lots of empty seats last night. Many left early. As always we stay.

I held on til the end too.
Just disappointed in the effort saturday

Mrs. Fan and I will be in PPG for the game against the Islanders at the end of the month. I hope they have stuff figured out by then.

I'm sure you will have a good evening.

I think we have 14 games on the calendar for this year. Prices are cheaper this year for secondary market tickets. With as many open seats as I have seen and cheaper tickets. If they don't figure it out, it will be ugly.
