2018-19 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Blue was the man tonight.
Bjugstad's line was putting some pressure, solid performance by Simon especially.

Great turnaround after the 1st period.

I think he can throw down when needed, but he's just trying to play hockey.

Ol 29er cracked me up tonight after the Pens scored that last goal and went on the power play. He said he doesn't want to see a let down and be that fat cat on the back of the couch licking itself. Ha!! He's totally right though and a great analogy of how they often go into cruise mode but didn't see it tonight
 
Preds are gonna be tough second go.
I'm glad the guys have a few days to recover before.

Invited my wife's bro in law for the game. We always have friendly ribbing.

My cat who has what could be understated as having a little bit of a weight problem stopped cleaning himself and stared at the TV in disgust from the back of the couch at that comment.
 
Statistically speaking. The Pens have a less that 1% chance of missing the playoffs. So to celebrate, I reserved tickets in all 4 rounds. I know going deep is a reach but if they do. I won't be hunting tickets.

That's awesome. I have no expectations,but I do know they have the talent,skill and heart to do it. They just have to commit to doing whatever needs to be done all the time every time.

I used to automatically get tickets to every home playoff game with no money up front. ******* took that away from me because i don't buy at least half season tickets.

I picked up a package of half of the home playoff games. 25% up front and they recalibrate as the games are played. Unfortunately I live too far away to purchase the whole package. I don't mind paying a deposit up front. For the playoffs this is usually a cheaper option, if they get past the first round.

We can't do a regular season package. The weather traveling over the mountains is too unpredictable in the snow months. We usually buy two days out. The weather was decent this year and I think we will end up going to 23 home games. Last year the timing was bad, ended up going to 17.
 
5 games left. Lightning are 3 short of the record number of wins.

Be nice to get #60 over the craps tonight.

I've been thinking about upgrading to a half season package so I can get back on the auto-playoff tickets. I could sell half or so and be about even with where I am not and what I am paying. Get discounts at the concessions, too, I think. The games I get with the 10-game package are usually pretty good, but they are Tue/Thu games and getting across the bay at 630/700 sucks ***,

I figure that, as soon as I do, the lightning will collapse and I will never be able to sell half of the ticket!

I went to Amaile the last 2 years. Nice venue and even though we wore Pens gear, fans around us were great. Bolts are having a hell of a season.
 
I'll be staying home this postseason unless someone locally has tickets fall in their lap again.

I owe $1,800 in taxes, just had a $2,000 car repair, and a $1300 water heater replacement. Been a rough month.
 
FYI. I saw that on ESPN this Sunday 9am they are doing the story on that girl who brought the "I need a Kidney" sign to the arena.

Damn, that is a rough spell. Things always turn around. Time to start buying a few powerball tickets.

$1300 for a water heater? Was it lined with gold? You could get a tankless like me for less than a grand.

Was weird not seeing the Pens sound off thread near the top of the page. DK has been busy. He'll reach Wally World status in no time ;)

Watched the Caps and Carolina last night. Both looked very average but I'm sure they will up their game. Didn't see Wilson out headhunting and being an ***. Maybe he saves that for the Pens or he's on a real short leash with the league.

I did see one Carolina goal where their forward totally beat Holtby like a rented mule. He didn't know whether to cry or wind his watch. Wasn't enough and the Caps picked up 2 points. Bastids
 
Pens really aren't getting help from anyone. They are going to have to make it happen on their own. Tonight should be a great game. They have pretty much owned the Pred's but we all know how that goes. Beside getting in the palyoffs my short term pens goals.
