One option they are talking about is steroids treatments. That would buy time until he could have surgery. The by week starts January 22 and is actually 9 days without a game. The following 2 weeks is fairly light. I'm not a fan of waiting that long. How much additional damage could be done ?

He's not 100% and teams will aim for that spot to hit. Not a fan of waiting. This is the advantage of having 82 games.

Said he has been dealing with it since training camp.

Wish they would have fixed it then and it would have been dealt with by now.

The way the Pens are balanced right now. There is only one measure that really needs fixed. The Powerplay.

Most recent years they were close to 26%, this year 12.96% . Score some PP goals and the spill over comes from other teams playing catch up.

This better turn into a defensive minded team quick. Without Sid, Horny, and Letang they aren't scoring a lot of goals. They need to play much better defense. Of course it would help if Murray didn't let in so many soft goals. That 2nd goal last night was horrible. Junior hockey goalies could stop that.

Their goals against is 5th best at 2.4 and their shots against average is 28.6 which is tied for NHL best. Subtract out Murray's brain farts and the numbers would be insane. Their overall Corsi/advanced stats back the basic numbers up fairly well.

Their goals for is 3.2 and that is about upper 3rd. If you smooth out the 7 goal games they drop to bottom 5. The anomaly is the Powerplay is 3rd worst.

The Pens played a great game. Awesome start to finish. That said, how much of a mess is that Leafs team. Way too much talent to play that way. I figure Babcock is going to get canned before long if things don't turn around.

From now till mid March it's hard to buy tickets in advance because of the weather. It's a gamble if it's going to snow between here and Pittsburgh. I'll get to a few when the weather and prices both look good.

The Pens are cleaning up their defense even though they don’t pass the eye ball test.

We’ll see how these guys respond with a two game showdown with the isles. The Pens are definitely hustling.
I still feel Malkin needs to be more aggressive to turn this team around.
