2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Pens haven't had a shot on goal since the 8th grade picnic....gotta love those Lange calls

C'mon, let's go Pens!

Dang...it was promising for awhile. Did UB go to the game? ;)

I'm really having a hard time keeping any faith in Murray. He is a decent goalie. Not great. Not even very good. He's OK +

Terrible loss. Up 4-2 with about 4 minutes left. Then lose in OT 5-4.

He's what we have to work with. Sounds like the Rudolph argument all over again. :)

I wouldn’t pin this one on the goalie. The tying goal, Blueger was a screen essentially.
Just a damn heated slap shot.

The OT goal. Shultz was passing like trash

Yeah. This one was a let down. The islanders really have the Pens number right now.

At least their coach does....

I didn't see the game, but I'm not sure anyone would argue that Murray is a shutdown goalie. He's amazing one minute and porous the next, but he is what he is and until someone better comes along, he's the goalie I'd advise the Pens to go with.

4 min left up by 2 goals and you lose by 1. That just sucks. Murray is going on season 3 of not being that guy. Man that ending was deflating.

I think murray is just solid. He very rarely steals a game, but rarely loses one on his own. I think he has been slipping the last couple years and trending in the wrong direction though

I don't know if anyone saw the save Flower had against the Leafs last night. Just plain robbery. I miss that guy.

He made some really good saves last night but losing that game in the last few minutes and in OT is unacceptable. You are up 2 goals twice in the game..

Pens youngsters got greedy. There were several mistakes that were preventable that led to goals. They also missed some grade A chances. I love the energy but they lack finish.

McCann Tanev and Kahun sure are getting to be fun to watch. The shot Kahun took between his legs would have been a highlight reel..... if it had gone in.

No excuse for blowing a two goal lead. No excuse for completely ******** the bed in OT. Murray held the game close with some solid saves, it could have been worse.

The curse of "Jump Around" continues. Schultz left practice early yesterday and he is scratched tonight. Pens brought up Trotman from WBS. I would expect to see Ruhwedel in the lineup tonight.

The injury trend has to end someday. Heard it toady that the Pens have been fully healthy for all of two periods this year.

And another OT game with the same losing results...bleh

I'll take the point. Disappointing OT again, but they kept fighting to tie the game late. We really miss Sid in OT. He makes teams back off a bit. The NYI are all over our guys with little room. MM couldn't stop a beach ball, either in OT. For every great save he makes, he's sure to give one up.

Maybe it's time to start playing Jarry in games that are not on the back side of a back to back. MM might need some additional games off as he's appearing especially vulnerable or losing focus at the end of games.

I think we kinda stole a point back with the late rally last night. I'll take the point but again the Pens did piss away another lead. With all the injuries my expectations are pretty low.

Crosby- 5 weeks
Letang- Still week to week
Schultz- Out longer term
Bjugstad- a minimum of 8 weeks

Considering the current mess and the bigger injury mess all season. All I'm hoping for is to hold that Wild Card spot until Sid returns. I love the effort and compete.

Now for some things I don't like...

Murray inconsistent at the crucial times.
lack of physical pushback in the corners and net front on both ends of the ice. I'm not talking hitting but losing body position
Galchenyuk, Please if he can't score the turnovers have to end
Fix the damn powerplay.

I keep reading that the Pens are looking to move Jarry. Maybe they should look at moving Murray. I know the guy has won two cups, but he has been inconsistent at best since then. Maybe it is because he knows he is the man, nobody there to push him. I don't know, but that dude gives up some head scratchers for sure.
