2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

When the Pens can get out of their zone in transition they look great. Still concerning is how they get pinned in their own end for long stretches. They gotta get that figured out. Aside from that, they are skating well and generating chances. Sooner or later, more of it has to start going in. Some of the looks they are getting are just too good not to. It's a matter of time.

All those guys you mentioned, UB, are playing very well. The new additions have added fire and speed. I really hope they lock up McCann. He's a quiet force on the ice and has a nose for the puck.
Jarry looked good. I'd keep riding him. It's a long season, so see what he can provide. So far so good!
I saw that Kyle Turris may be on the outs in Nashville and suggested to a co-worker that maybe they will take Chucky off our hands for Turris and BAM!, he scores. I'm pretty sure he heard me talking about him. Whatever it takes. :o)

A change of scenery may do Turris some good. Only thing he is $6M for the next 4 seasons. At least Chucky is a FA after this year. I hope that goal opens the flood gates.

Pens seem to struggle with hard forechecking teams. Trotman was rushed most of the night. He still played well but needs to show some poise. I think Letang was back too soon. He looked stiff and definitely out of sync.. That first period was pretty awful from a puck movement standpoint. This team has a room to improve and getting to transition is a big opportunity without using stretch passes.

Trotman is good. He has a future. So many good young guys on our ice right now.

Did anyone else see Letang take a puck to the hand towards the end? I didn't hear anything, so it must have been nothing, but I held my breath.

What I think Trotman needs is time on the NHL ice. The reason I mentioned poise is it seems like his decisions are rushed and that improves through experience. Practice lines for today had him on the 4th pair and that usually put the players as a scratch. I think there is solid upside to Trotman and I hope Sully gives him a chance to prove it.

I think Letang is good to go. He practiced today and I didn't see any negative reports. (fingers crossed)

Dude did a pretty good job with the National Anthem.

Michael Warren. Never heard of him.

Over 14 minutes, and two scores before they got their first SOG. Love the D

D is playing lights out right now. They are stacking everything at the blue line. Their PP looked good as well.

Spoke too soon. The D gives up a 3-1 and now it's 2-1.

Did you see Geno yell "HEY!" at the refs? Classic

Trotman scratched, Who couldn't handle the play on the goal.... Ruhwedel. 2-1 I'll take it

What happened to our defense?

Murray needs help. He's not close to the player we know he was.

What a terrible display. How did this go so bad? Murray now pulled. Jarry should start until he needs a break. Murray has lost it.

He has. And it;s time for Sully to light a fire under Murray. This "he'll figure it out" stuff has to stop

Wtf?!!!

Jarry is letting them in now.
Letang got beat on that one. 6-3 vancouver
