2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Sid should be coming back soon and well Jake is more like in time for the playoffs if they make it.

Man this totally blows.

Does the 4-6 months include his rehab time?

That much time out seems like pins screws and plates are involved.. if so I just hope the guy can compete again..

I would think the biggest issue is that shoulder taking impact again. He's young so those recuperative abilities are still super high. I wouldn't be suprised if we don't see him until next season.

I was trying to take Jake's injury in stride. "Next man up" but damn we are almost out of men. It's not just the goal scoring but his high level of hockey IQ especially in the dirty areas. Unless they are down playing the injury, Jake is done for the year. Reports had 2 surgeons with different areas of focus. One bone and one muscular. I hope I'm wrong but it sure doesn't look encouraging.

One thing for sure. It's nice to have the best 2 way player in the game on deck. Jake being out is more than a bump in the road but the team has depth, cap space and prospects. GMJR will do some dealing maybe sooner than he planned.

UB, were you at that game?

I see where Malkin was find 5K for high sticking the Sens player. That guy was fined 2500 for roughing.

What's the deal with the Sens? Is there bad blood between the two teams? If not, there sure as hell is now. I don't think the Sens player intentionally tried to hurt Guentzel but he definitely didn't do much to avoid tripping him up. Granted it was a bang bang play. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next game.

No bad blood. Tkachuk and co are a pest bunch of players who tried to get under the winning teams skin.
It worked.

Guentzel’s injury was a freak accident. Nothing intentional about it. He crashed into the board awkward. That’s it.
Nothing dirty

After watching it on YouTube in slow motion it looked like the puck was in the net by the time the defender put his stick down near Jake's skates. I think it could have been avoided. Water over the dam at this point though

We did go. The weather has been very kind for driving over the mountains. I hope it stays that way.

The Sens are not a highly skilled team. They survive by the body. They are chippy and somewhat dirty. Pageau and Malkin and Pageau have had something going on for the past couple of years. Tkachuk has run ins with everyone. That's his style. The only way the Sens survive without much skill is to play the body.

I didn't have a great view of the play where Jake got hurt. We were sitting in the double attack end. Watching replays I don't see it as intentional.

I think the Malkin-Pageau bad blood goes back to Game 5 2017 Playoffs. When the Pens beat the Senators 7-0. Some ticky-tac stuff with words exchanged. Malkin holds a grudge like no other. I could be wrong on the game but it was that series.

Jake was Pens leading pt scorer?

They are done

Free Center Ice for a week starting tomorrow, lol

I think some guy named Crosby would disagree with you. What has to happen is Jarry has to continue "close" to where he has been all year. Holding teams to 3 goals or less wins you a ton of games. Jake won't like be replaced by any one player. It will be more of a committee. GMJR will make moves, Bjugs, Dumo and Shultz will be back. I'm not saying this is an easy path but it is far from over.

That and I think the players have bought into Sully's game plan and are all on the same page. I can see Lafferty getting back into the lineup.

2-2 going into the 3rd. 1 more for the Horny Hat Trick!

Seen Letang turn it over multiple times and inexplicably shot the puck from his own zone to center ice with a few seconds to go before the period ended, it was intercepted by a Shark who immediately shot it on goal. Granted it would have been a lucky shot but just dumb of Letang to take that chance. Hope he wakes up for the 3rd

What's the deal with the refs not calling even blatantly obvious penalties against the opposition? Burns played the puck with a busted stick...Play on

OK, they just called one on old man Thornton. High Sticking

OTL...Pens were short handed thanks to a Letang trip. Thought they were going to kill the penalty but Burns had other ideas with a wicked shot about 20' out

Why can't Letang seem to avoid taking boneheaded penalties at the worst times....

I thought the Pens were the better team but Dell had a heck of a game. No doubt they missed Jake tonight. Probably would have been an easy win with him in the lineup

That's one of those games that I'm pissed because we should have won yet for stupid mistakes.

Well it's been a little since Letang pulled a dumb dumb. He's got to refresh the tree of stupidity
