2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

Sullivan staying patient with Murray was key in thus one and will be huge down the road.

Agreed. Murray most likely still has "it" in him, he's just in a funk. The problem is that he is not all the way back. The booing was too much. He has disappointed me at times, but so has Jarry, DeSmith, MAF, etc. It's the nature of the game. For the record, I really think that there are times when booing a player or coach or call, etc., it truly appropriate. This was not one of these times. Still, I hope that the team and coaches were listening. They need to step up some. Oh yeah, they did and won. Well played Murray.

Dear God in Heaven, let Murray AND Jarry be on top of their game going into the playoffs. That tandem would be unstoppable if so.

Agreed about the booing and Bronx cheer from our fans...

I thought we were better than that.
Kind of cheapened our 600 straight home sellout.

One of the few times, I'm happy that I didn't go last night. Without rehashing I'm glad that the Pens found a way to pull it together. That was a big win !

Kinda ho hum game so far. Not much spark or offensive flow at all and now two penalties in a row.

Jarry is the only reason we're down just 1-0. Letang with a turnover yet again in front of his own net.

Pens are their own worst enemy again. Don't understand how they consistently play worse as a team when Sid is in the lineup.

Down 0-2 at the end of the 2nd. More bad defense. 3 PPs and only 2 shots. Both on this last PP. Can't cycle the puck and can't keep it in the offensive zone. Bad passes and bad communication. Maybe they can do something in the 3rd.

I don't get that at all. It's the Pittsburgh Penguins not the Pittsburgh Crosbys. It's really strange. Go figure. They have the 3rd starting with a powerplay leftover. Just a shred of inspiration would be nice and a goal or 3.

Looking like they're getting a head start on the break. Disappointing but not unexpected.

9 days without hockey. Plenty of time to stew over this loss. I just don't like a lack of effort. Fortunately they haven't played this bad since the opener vs Buffalo.

Apparently the booing of Murray hurt some feelings at least that's what it looked like.

Schultz and possibly Bjugs will be back after break, Kahun also. I just want to hear the words that Dumo is skating. His time line was 1st week of February, fingers crossed.

I'm still optimistic, just get in the playoffs. As a whole they have exceeded my expectations. GMJR will do some retooling. The rematch on 1/31 will be an opportunity to clean up the mess.

People are booing a body of work the last few years. It's understandable. As a two time Stanley Cup winning goalie he set his own standard for performance. It's been way below the line. It's just honesty.

they don't look fast and suffocating like they were in Sid's absence. I don't know what happened, but I was expecting them to look like they did against the Wild. Balls out, scoring machine, but they have been kinda lackluster. The Bs game was pretty good, but last night was rather uninspired. Now we have over a week with that salty taste in our mouths. THe break should do them wonders.

Murray is too damn sensitive. He was visibly shaken after the 2nd goal. It look like he was shaking as he handled the puck. Goalies are a different breed but Murray needs to be tougher mentally. He got what he earned and maybe it's a wake up for him.

What a letdown...

Watching that lackluster performance reminded me of watching the futility of the Steelers offense..

It was bad except for Jarry. I can't wait for the rematch right after the break. If they don't come out and obliterate the Flyers. I'll start to have playoff performance concerns.

Maybe with Crosby the team feels more relaxed and thinks his presence out there is enough to carry the team. It's not like Crosby is a defensive liability either so it is definitely confusing as to why they play better in his absence. As for Murray im not really a fan of booing players at least when they seem like good guys. If he was a cocky prick and going out there sucking then I'd be all for the booing. I just do not think he has been mentally right the last couple years for whatever reason.

Eh. Not worried.
Bad couple of days despite a W on sunday.

The all star break should do wonders. This team is pedal to the metal. Inconsistent days are bound to happen

Who's ready for some hockey? Let's get a win tonight and wash out the lingering bad taste of the last game.

I was just thinking about not wanting to think about the last game they played before the allstar break.

Shultz may be back this evening as well.

I think they are still waking up....
